He should be easy for Quillin to get past, but when you see how Quillin did vs Rosado, obviously anyone can potentially give him a real challenge.
Put it this way, I don't think Jacobs gets passed Geale.
It's hard not to root for him too. The media makes it a little easier I guess, just so dramatic and sappy with their narrative of Jacobs over and over, but he inarguably is someone you want to root for given what he's gone through.
Peterson looked fine. I still think he gets clobbered by a better heavy handed puncher. I'd like to see him vs John Molina, the guy Matthysse fought last. I think that's about the heavy handed level that would make for a great fight vs Peterson.
I think a Maidana or Mathysse (we saw the latter already beat him up obviously) just breaks through Peterson too fast and takes him out.
Tough to really put out good judgements given the level of opponents Peterson and (shortly) Garcia are fighting.
man what a disturbing fight garcia and salka. i counted to 12 after the second KO and they let him continue. i just saw it on youtube because i wasnt going to waste a sat night on that fight. worse mismatch i have ever seen
Last night had one of the better fights of 2014 thus far. Forgot all about this one, wish I would've remembered and put this on instead of the Showtime card.
Spoiler:
Rodriguez looked a lot stronger throughout. I kept expecting him to lose by stoppage late though, since there were so many "FOTY FOTY" chants after this fight. I think it was good, and will be top 10 for sure this year, perhaps fringe top 5 if the rest of the year doesn't pan out too well... but it's hard to think this was a ton better than Guererro's last fight, and I still think Arreola Stiverne and Mathysse's fights were better. There were some other good fights earlier this year as well.
So Porter v Brook fight week, really looking forward to it. Don't think I've missed a Brook fight for a good few years but still no real idea how good he is. Haven't seen enough of Porter either to feel confident in backing him.
The one thing I'd say about Kell though is he's one damn accurate fighter, not a lot of waste in the shots he throws.
I think Brook has the power to hurt him, that's what makes me hesitate.
Otherwise, Porter has been in with far better competition, and really comes at you.
Brook looked uncomfortable vs that washed up former champion two fights or so ago, when the former champ semi pressed. I can see Porter really taking it to Brook if he doesn't step it up and really connect with shots.
Anyone else think Porter is going to walk onto a huge counter shot from Brook ?
Brook is pretty heavy handed and is a pretty decent counter puncher who times his shots well, I see Porter taking a big counter and either being put down or staggered badly and then finished off by a flurry of Brook punches.
i feel like brook is gonna go the same way as a lot of brits with perfect records that go up against their first quality american opponents and get sparked out
