Will be interesting to see what Broner does next. They'll probably feed him a few taxi cab drivers to build him up again.

Broner should really move down a weight class so that his power plays more of a factor, but all the big fights are at 147.

Broner's antics and his connection with Mayweather will continue to get him big fights and title shots. He has been professionally demoted from Mayweather protege to Mayweather nuthugger.

Broner - Alexander. Broner - Matthyse (Lucas probably can fight far earlier though scheduling wise). Peterson would be fair too.

But I won't be shocked if he gets Maidana rematch. Maybe biting off more than he can chew, but we'll see if he's capable of adjusting strategically (which he needs to do if Maidana shows up like this again). If he can't adjust strategically, what's the point of throwing him softballs? If a boxing star can't outbox Maidana he's not a boxing star (taking nothing away from Maidana).

Thurman Porter is cool. Thurman Maidana is cool. Thurman Malignagi is cool. Any of those fights is worthwhile/deserving to me.

Where does Guerrero factor in too?

You know what's interesting? Thurman hits harder than Broner. Soto hits softer than Maidana. Yet Thurman used his legs and outboxed Soto, and picked his spots to trade.

Meanwhile, Broner didn't move around much, just a forward and back fighter, not much side to side, and sat there and let Maidana wind up on a lot of shots.

That's the difference between a young fighter that gets how to fight his opponent and one that does not.

Sooooooooooooo looking forward to watching this on BN this morning .

Broner is such a insufferable individual ... so glad this fool has been exposed.

Completely embarrassed Boner. Did not see that coming.

Revenge hump GOAT

Broner has prob hit his ceiling until he starts taking boxing seriously and show a little humility.

Was there not a post fight press conference for Broner v Maidana? I have been looking all over Youtube and can't seem to find anything.

Seeing Broner hit the canvas in round 2 was the happiest sports moments of the year for me. So many thoughts on Broner:

-He was doing that insufferable clown thing troll early in the fight. It works to get us to tune in to see you lose. But once you've already lost...
-He actually showed a ton of toughness. He got put on the mat 20 seconds into the second round and was hurt bad. There were tons of other times he got hit HARD and was hurt but he really fought through and still had me worried he was gonna get the KO in the 12th. Recovered after the first two knockdowns of his career.
-He a cheap bitch in the ring and so hateable.
-That acting job after the headbutt was embarrassing. He was desperately hoping for the DQ. But he knew he couldn't let it go to the scorecards
-Paul Malignaggi had a great observation; he doesn't counterpunch. He's either playing offense or defense. For a guy with such amazing hand speed he spends a lot of time handcuffed.
-Still a great fighter but 147 is too big for him. I don't think he could make 135 again. Are there any fights at 140?

Amir Khan maybe? Unless Amir decides to move up/stay to 147 which would be lolbad for him given his chin.

Quick, name every fighter that deserves a shot at Floyd before Khan! We'll even discount previous opponents.

Pacquiao
Bradley
Garcia
Malignagi
Maidana
Lara
Molina
Porter
Thurman
Provokinov

I think I'm still missing a few.

Wow. Mayweather might actually get a KO if he fights Khan.

He'll undoubtedly be Mayweather's fastest opponent though.

I've gotta say that I'm impressed with Malignaggi as an announcer. One of the few color guys in any sport who actually says insightful stuff.

Who wouldn't watch Garcia-Maidana?

Both are with golden boy right?

Just way too many possible fights to be made at 140/147. An overabundance of watchable action fighters.

There could be some interesting moments as even Mayweather isn't going to be able to avoid all of Khan's shots. Won't matter though as Khan has little power and a questionable chin.

Malignaggi does the radio colour for some fights in the UK (Hatton v Senchenko and Kahn v Peterson & Garcia). That i can remember he did the colour for those fights is testament to the quality.

I agree. Paulie is very good at color commentating.

Honestly, I think RJJ is underrated by most. He knows his craft extremely well and can speak coherently. Andre Ward knows his stuff but just like his boxing, his personality also seems to be boring.

Amir Khan's commentating abilities are even weaker than his chin. Malinaggi is getting really good though. RJJ. just cracks me up with how much he struggles to speak clearly, knows his stuff though.

In addition to his boxing knowledge, I think one of Paulie's better qualities as a commentator is his resistance to talking about himself. He's very humble behind the microphone and adept at quickly acknowledging praise and returning the commentary to the in-ring action.

I admire that professionalism, especially considering its rarity among athletes working in broadcasting, who seem to never resist the opportunity to tell a personal anecdote.

I agree that RJJ is underrated in some ways, but his verbal tics make him hard for me to take seriously. Like, by the time he's finished repeating verbatim whatever Max or Jim said, my giggling is already drowning out his analysis. Amir is painful to listen to. Ward is okay I think.
