Manny clearly took sympathy on Rios in that last round. Did nothing but throw pitty-pat punches for most of the round.
Manny said he was hurt in the 5th.

I guess a Bradley fight is next? JMM?

He won't fight provod (same trainer).

TR is just lame at this point. I wish he could fight one of the many WW fighters GBP has.

serious question: if this was dedicated to you after losing your home and society, are you happy about it? if you want to dedicate a fight for me, you better knock your opponent out.

and lolRios. ****ing thug. not even close to Mexican.

Gotta admit that he's sucked me in from time to time.

But with this fight, I think he's just trying too hard.

Pac looked pretty good. Pac did what was expected: make Rios a punching bag. Brandon is one tough SOB.

Now can they please make Mayweather-Pacquiao already?!?! Almost certainly going to be Mayweather/Khan and Pac/Bradley II sometime in the summer though.

He peaks in 116-112 type fights where you actually start to believe in what he says.

120-108 type fights though, it's just too much to work with. Nothing against him, but nobody can convince a sane person that Canelo or Rios did anything in their last two fights (against the best and maybe 3rd or 4th best p4ps out there).

At least the casuals will be back on Manny's side after this one. It's amazing what the worst decision in a major fight in the last decade + one big punch when close to being defeated can do to a major star.

I don't think Manny has lost anything. He looked faster tonight, with great endurance. Perhaps less powerful, but there's no reason to wind up and trade shots with Rios, it's the only thing that gives Rios a chance. Very smart fight, but unsurprising given how humble Manny always seems.

i loved to cheer for pac in this fight and he looked good. But he will not beat Mayweather (even if it's probably the most interesting mayweather fight out there).

Pac Bradley 2. Then let Pac fight someone like provodnikov.

Also, Hamer got dropped by Dibella via twitter + his purse is reportedly being withheld (all for quitting against big boy Ruiz).

Maybe now people can get off the "Pac needs to retire, he's done!"?
Yes Rios is not a world beater, but Pac looked like p4p fighter physically for sure.

His two "losses" came to Bradley who we now know is very good (we only thought so by the time he fought Pac) and it truly was not a legit loss.
He was also winning against Marquez when he got hit by a murderous shot that would have KO'd everyone including Rios.

Hopefully i will not have to read about how Mayweather is ducking Pac because of this (everyone should realize by now that they are both to be blamed, maybe most of all Bob Arum) but i definitely hope we get to see Pac dethrone Bradley like i know he can.

Marquez should probably retire. No need to see that fight again even if it would be a good one.

Pac probably have 2-3 good fights left in him. Hopefully it will be Bradley, Provodnikov and possibly even Broner if they can work out a deal with GBP (we could always dream about Mayeather but cmon now)

You can understand why the very top American boxers just refuse to come over to the UK to fight.

Nothing short of a disgrace and the same goes for Fast Eddie.

The same ref will no doubt be back out in the next Matchroom useless card full of home fighters fighting some teak tough Argie.

The hand picked judges and refs in this country needs to be investigated but it will never happen.

Agreed on not beating Mayweather. Pac used his speed to stay out of Rios' reach without giving anything on right jab. He isn't done at all. On the contrary, Roach is clearly trying to evolve Pac into an elusive fighter. At his age, he still has the speed to do it. If anything, Roach has sold to Pac that he can't be so aggressive to lower his exposure and get away with it anymore; that said, if Pac can be that elusive and have an aggressiveness level like that, he could stay in the legit top-5 for a while.

JMM would be an entertaining fight, obv. Can't really root against that. Honestly, have no interest in Pac-Bradley again bit it may be in Pac's interest, I guess.

Good. Total ****ing joke.

I can't tell you when I last saw a guy winning a fight on the scorecard and quit without blood.

Not saying he genuinely couldn't go back out there, but to be in such bad condition to not be able to keep fighting is insulting.

Pac looked good in large part because he so badly outclassed Rios. Yeah, he's still a top p2p fighter, but it's hard to take a ton away from watching him basically work the heavy bag for 36 minutes.

I want to see Pac/Bradley again to hopefully watch him take it seriously and dismantle TB, after which he can fight whomever (as it likely won't be Floyd).

It is a true shame for us as fans that Floyd, Arum, and even in some ways Manny conspired to keep us from our once-in-a-generation fight.

Pac/Floyd would be the equivalent to Ali/Frazier's Fight Of The Century.

I don't see Pac fighting JMM again. I expect a rematch with Timothy Bradley. Bradley isn't much of a puncher, but he has a hell of a heart and is very fast. Made JMM look like crap.

Minor Cool-Story-Bro:
At work yesterday I was helping on a project to refurbish some prisons and was working with a man who worked in corrections here (in Indiana). He mentioned his most famous inmate was (ldo) Mike Tyson. He showed me a bunch of pictures of the two of them and described Mike, even in his baddest man on the planet, days as one of the nicest (albeit most gullible) men he'd ever met. When Mike came back doing his one man show apparently he drove out to the prison unannounced just to meet this guy and take him to dinner and say thank you for being so nice to him.

If there was any doubt in your mind, Mike is really that awesome of a guy.

The last part actually makes a lot of sense if you listen to this guy talk. In a not terribly surprising development, when Mike was in jail, people would show up daily asking for money including the Spikey Haired One himself.

Mike was never a smart man but King did so much damage to him.

Edit: on the other hand, Sinbad is apparently hilarious and very down to earth. Came to visit Mike on a day where visits were not allowed, so he just hung out in the captain's office telling jokes with the guards for a couple hours.

Rios was a middleweight last night, so I think that played a role in him not being dropped. I think it was good for Pacquiao to get the rounds in. He was pretty sharp and was consistent for all 12. Overall, I think it was a good one for him. It's too bad Rios didn't fight the way he usually fights, but I'm sure they had to switch up their game plan since it was Pacquiao. It would have given non-Pacquiao fans something to enjoy. I liked how Pacquiao was turning him a lot to avoid getting hit. Really nice to watch.

His last KO was at 145 vs Cotto, so I see that he does not have the KO type power he had at 140 and below. The bet on a Pacquiao decision would have been a good one. If he sticks to the in and out, turning type game plan, I'd be happy to see that until he retires.

I'm guessing it will be Bradley next. I really hope that a Mayweather fight could be made, but Pacquiao would have to leave Top Rank. I say F it to Marquez, do not give that cry baby another big payday. Let him retire.

JMM would still beat pac, but I have no interest in watching that fight again. I would much rather see pac fight someone new, rather than jmm/bradley, even though that's all that TR can offer.

The Groves stoppage was the worst I've ever seen in a title fight. British refs are a complete joke.

It's good to see Pac back, he's not the same fighter he was 3 or 4 years ago but he's still a pleasure to watch.
