Brawl broke out. Fight is over imo. Don't see Mike surviving another couple of rounds.

Mike can't win now without a KO. Hopefully he goes nuts just for fun.

alvarado's corner should stop the fight.

Ruslan has been in the 2 best fights of the year.

I'm a huge Provodnikov fan, and have been since the Bradley fight.

His power is incredible. TKO'ing a guy who has never been down in his career is amazing.

tony weeks a great ref. he was standing close to mhm towards the end of the last round, looking to stop it then. mike got a few uppercuts in to prevent the stoppage tho.

fighting the siberian rocky is dangerous for your health. no doubt mhm is concussed and suffering brain damage.

Good stoppage. Good fight, as expected. Ruslan definitely one of the most entertaining fighters right now.

Ruslan vs. JMM or Rios would be amazing. Would would like Pac vs. Ruslan, but they have the same trainer.

Ruslan v. Cotto would be an interesting fight. I like Cotto at a higher weight though.

Man, getting killed on the stuff I bet this year. Have had Broner under rds, Marquez (and under rds), Matthyse (under rds), now Alvarado.

Alvarado looked fine early, but just not enough hit and run from him. Ruslan seemed somewhat open to a good hit and run tactic, he's not incredibly fast, but you can't sit in front of him he's just too damn strong when he winds up. If Mike would've danced more and jabbed a bit more he might've had him cut up good by 10 and still been on his feet. Oh well.

Was at the fight, undercard was fairly weak, but the 14-10 guy had a chin so Diaz beat him up for 10 rounds, that was decent enough.

Pretty obvious stoppage for Alvarado, he went to the wrong corner after the last round and was stumbling around. Good heart, just a bit weak on the strat tonight.

I like Ruslan vs Marquez next. Marquez last hurrah, Ruslan won't dance around and box, so if Marquez can't win he's done (and not sure he will win). Alvarado should fight a tough but not top tier guy then bounce back vs the best fight he can find. I think we see Bradley Manny II, provided Rios loses (not sure what Rios does after that... I guess Rios Alvarado III could make sense for both guys).

Yeah, wishful thinking.

On an unrelated note, I almost have tears in my eyes watching the Ward/Gatti story on HBO. Amazing to think how crazy it is that two fighters were made so perfectly for each other.

Boxing lost a piece of itself the day Gatti died.

do you guys rate Bradleys win over Provodnikov significantly higher after tonight?

Mike set a pretty good blueprint in the 2nd round of how he could beat provod. I dunno if he had the stamina to box and use his legs that much, considering he cut so much weight and looked drained as hell at the weigh in. Also provod was doing a decent job cutting off the ring.

I'd like to see Provod v. Rios next. I think Provod can KO rios as well.

I think if Bradley had fought him how he fought Marquez it would have been more impressive and easier W. It was close because Tim was trying to prove something. (I thought Tim should have loss due to the rounds he was out on his feet; I scored them 10-8 rounds).

I guess he could rematch him and see what happens, but I think Tim will wait for a pac rematch.

I do. Alvarado didn't take half the beating that Bradley did and Bradley still survived and found a way to win. I think it really showed how much of a warrior Bradley is. Remember also that Alvarado had never been down in his career prior to tonight.

I used to hate Bradley but now I'm a huge fan. He's kind of like Danny Garcia, you try not to like him but at some point you can't deny how good he is. Bradley has never ducked anyone and does what he can to please the fans.

He's my kind of fighter.

i feel bad for alvarado right about now...classy guy but damn i'm really not sure what his promoter is doing to him. career pay day i guess but man his last like 4 fights have been brutal

heh i think this is a pretty fair comparison

for me anyway. i didn't give either enough credit

anyway prov-rios seems like the super obvious fight to make now but i mean jesus there are a billion fights he could make

maidana/ortiz/khan, whatever it doesn't really matter the division is awesome

Why wouldn't Provo take on Marquez over Rios next (assuming Rios loses)? Marquez would give him a far bigger payday and win recognition, right?

Plus Marquez shouldn't be able to get Bradley or Manny after this, and fighting Ruslan over Alvarado makes sense (belt + he just beat him).

That was my immediate thought. Obviously the promoter mentioned winner of Manny - Rios and Bradley rematch, but I think those two will fight each other.

Any other really good top rank guys at this weight class that might come into play?
