yup

destroyed bradley handily and was looking better vs marquez than he did in his 3rd fight

don't see why he is considered done

he may be done now though as i believe getting ktfo like that at this stage in his career could have an impact for sure. But it's too soon to say. Based on his Bradley and last Marquez fight he's still a very special fighter.

It should be fun 'cause they're both so aggressive. But Rios has no defense and can punch himself out so easily.

Pac is not done.

The Bradley fight was close in terms of rounds but Pac legit won more rounds. He was looking great on Marquez, but Marquez slipped one past the goalie he didn't see.

He's had 61 fights and lost the last two (and could have lost the last 3 if the Marquez decision didn't go his way)

One thing's for sure: if Pac loses to Rios he should go back to politics ASAP

What qualifications do you need to be a boxing judge?

Honest question because it seems like a job any avid boxing fan is capable of doing?

All Chavez has is his name. Otherwise, the guy is an undisciplined hack.

Vera should tell this guy to **** off if possible. The babying going on is bull****. If he wasn't daddy's boy, none of this weight changing and delaying would happen.

“The weigh-in is at 3PM on Friday. It's the only weigh-in in the history of boxing where we see the fighters making weight and we reveal the weight for the first time at the weigh-in. Something very unique in boxing, so everybody come because it’s not the normal weigh-in.”
- Bob Arum

They've probably agreed on something already but how can anyone say the above with a straight face?

"Yeah, just come in at whatever you want, np."

So wait they're going to publicly state the weight of the fighters at the weigh-in? I thought they always did that.

the usual procedure is to announce the weight when the fight is made. 'this fight will be at 154lb'. then the fighters get themselves under 154lb for the weigh in

in this fight they will weigh chavez, he will come up as 164lb or whatever, and then they will announce 'this fight will be at 164lb!'

So Vera has no idea what weight he has to make?

Couldn't JCC JR just weigh in at 180 and Vera would be screwed over since he'd be in the 150s or something?

Absolutely no way Vera should take this fight.

It started off at 162 then 164, 165 then Jr. was "cut" in camp and they bumped it up to 168. He just weighed in at 173 on Monday. He claimed he's trying to get down to 168 but I doubt he'll actually push himself.

Good call by Freddie Roach.

He supposedly did retire. Guess he hasn't had enough brain damage yet.

Lost In Translation imo

Pretty wise for Vera to continue imo. He gets another six figure payday (where else is he going to get this sort of money?), and there's a double digit chance Chavez shows up in a shape nowhere resembling boxing shape or his former fighting skillset.

So Vera has a shot at beating Chavez, which results in even more money.

Compare that to backing out now, wasting the leverage to get six figures more bc of the weight bs... who does Vera fight? How much could he make else ware? What sort of opportunities are available for him to get to the top vs just fighting Chavez and having a real chance at beating an overhyped, overpopular fighter?

Granted, I expect Chavez to win tomorrow. But if I'm in Vera's camp, I'm pretty excited to see the weight increase, as it means Chavez isn't taking **** serious and it means another six figures to Vera.
