also at this point if you ever expect anything resembling an exciting fight from floyd i think you are probably completely delusional, he has zero incentive to do anything other than what he did tonight, nor should he. i was pretty surprised that they said all the money was coming in on canelo at the end. boxing's great hype machine works again. canelo arguably lost to trout. floyd is basically impossible to hit it is really amazing but at this point you do have to wonder about the skills of his opponents over the last 5 years or so. canelo is not doomed to mediocrity or anything and way too young/facing way too good of an opponent to really conclude a lot from this fight, but you def saw the hype train in full force

overall pretty underwhelming card. I did like that garcia finally really proved himself in my eyes, i guess i underrated him somewhat for having nothing really elite (or so i thought). but dude took some elite body shots and has a great chin as well and shook em off easily/outboxed lucas. props. he is like the anti-hype train fighter, all he does is win and never gets credit from people like me or the boxing media really despite clearly having skills so i'm now a fan despite his dad lol. other two fights were lame as **** and not even worth going over although i do like me some cano generally speaking. actually that first fight was pretty darn good and a british guy did decent for once, the second fight was predictably awful.

I had it 115-113 Floyd, giving Canelo the benefit of the doubt in 3 close rounds. But LOLLLLLLLLLLLL at giving Canelo round 11. That was one of the lease competitive rounds in the fight.

Personally prefight i didn't dislike him as a fighter, he fights solid entertaining fights and is skilled but I didn't think he really had an A-level anything, just really good B+ stuff at everything and thought he looked relatively poor v judah and pretty much completely discounted the morales wins. I thought khan was going to beat him when they fought but then i put more of the blame on khan's glass chin then garcia's skill after the fact which appears to be wrong in retrospect. No more denying garcia's talents. This was the best he has ever looked for sure and he is still only 25


edit- welp slow pony . exactly what baids said. I didn't think he had an a level chin after the khan knockdown but it appears he does. also i was incredibly impressed with how well he took those lucas body shots, some of those looked real fierce to me.
