Saying it had to be at 147 made it sound he was going to.

oh i agree, trout was the clear opponent for canelo. I just mean canelo wasn't overwhelmingly impressive by any means. Like floyd watching that is diff than garcia watching mattyse. and as good as a defensive fighter as trout is, floyd is obv the ideal

According to Steve Kim on twitter, Schaefer says that there a catchweight. 152 lbs.

Floyd by UD. Don't see it going any other way. Maybe Canelo can win a decision if he just throw caution to the wind and pressure pressure pressure and bully him with size.

152 is an acceptable catchweight imo. 150 wouldn't be.
It's kind of dumb though as he will be criticized for it.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. said:

"Miguel Cotto never lost to Manny Pacquiao because he got weight drained to a catch weight of 145 lbs."

Fact:

Mayweather vs. Canelo will be held at a catchweight of 152 lbs. PLUS there will be a rehydration clause in which Canelo will be fined if he rehydrated over a certain weight on fight night.

Floyd "the weight drain Catchweight King" Mayweather ducked prime Cotto, Paul Williams, prime Mosley, and prime Pacquiao.

and source on the rehydration clause please. If true it's insane.

Canelo will be a dehydrated and weight drained ghost of a highly inexperienced fighter when he fights Mayweather at a catchweight fight.

Canelo should learn from Mayweather who signed a catchweight fight at 144 lbs. against a 132 lbs. blown up lightweight and cheated that lightweight by showing up above that contracted catchweight.

Steve Kim ‏@stevemaxboxing

I asked Richard Schaefer via email if there was a rehydration limit for Mayweather-Alvarez, his reply,'no, none' #boxing
So that's that I guess...
