I don't think so, Calzaghe was a true boxer in every sense of the word. He made very few mistakes his whole career and I think he would out grind and out box Froch like he did many of his opponents similar to him.

I mean, how strong is the SM class? Ward's last big fight was against that ****head Chad Dawson and that was supposed to be a challenging match. And IIRC, Dawson had to come down from LHW for the match.
