Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

I'd like to buy this, but my drunk roommates and co. are hogging our TV with Rock Band. Anyone with friends like Justin should PM me.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

So Clottey got beat (narrowly) by Cotto, who went on to get taken apart in a one sided contest by Pac. Even if Clottey has improved a ton since the Cotto fight, he's surely not even going to be close to taking Pac out. TBH I don't really see the point in this fight, but I guess Pac has to fight someone, and I'll still be watching it.

Cotto was pretty much out on his feet late in that fight and for whatever reason Clottey didn't close the show. I just think this fight is going to be a helluva lot closer than people think.

As a total boxing novice, I expect Pac to outclass Clottey, but this is a really bad argument. Styles make fights.

I mean people probably said the same thing about Buster Douglas against Mike Tyson, but that was a freak occurrence. Clottey obv more likely to beat Pac than Douglas was to beat Tyson.
lol @ the Douglas and Tyson comparison.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

I think that my opinion just comes from the last few years rooting for the underdog (esp as a Brit and Hatton fan) and just being sorely disappointed. Every time in these big fights we get promised a great match-up and evey time it's a one sided affair.

Meh, did that just to show that crazier stuff has happened.

That's what keeps people watching.

Hatton had zero chance again PBF or Pac-man. Styles make fights and his style is tailor made for both of those guy.

Initially, I was disappointed with the undercard but this is a pretty good fight.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

Boxing PPV undercards are just a POS now. It didn't used to always be like that. I remember many Don King productions in the 90s where he had mega cards with 3 or 4 top notch world championship fights. If it wasn't a title fight it was at least a hard charging up and comer. Not every fight needs to be a title fight but this crap is garbage.
