Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

If Ward beats Dawson he's the greatest supermiddleweight of all time. He could already be, honestly.

Only thing Calzaghe has going for him is number of defenses and his win over b-hop that wasn't even at smw.

No way man ,I am a big fan though

No way does he beats Roy Jones at Super Middle weight.James Toney on a good day to would have given him a real test.Joe C would of really pushed him to and maybe beaten him

Everyone Ward has beat I can name someone as good or better that RJJ and JC has beat

What I say is up to now thoughts,if he stays on track and keeps winning then maybe my views will change.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

Peak RJJ at one point would not even lose ONE round in most of his fights, let alone ................

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNeJ6...e=results_main

12 mins 28 sec go to

RJJ has beaten just as good people as Ward + better

Most accomplished is what i mean with "greatest".

lets list the top wins of each guy at smw. lets say top5 for simplicity.

Ward
Kessler
Froch
Dawson
Abraham
Green

Calzaghe
Kessler
Jeff Lacy
Robin Reid?
Washed up Eubank possibly?
Manfredo?

RJJ
Toney
Eric Lucas
Vinny Pazienza i guess
No need to even keep listing.

I don't think Ward could ever beat Roy at 168, but as far as wins goes it's clearly Ward > Jones at smw. Calzaghe is up for discussion but i think his body of work is a little too weak even if his streak was impressive. More quality on Wards short reign.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

once again, I'm not talking about who would win in a fight. I'm talking about merits at one weight division. Super middle.

I can't watch 10 fights with Roy at smw. They don't exist. He had 6~.

Not downgrading Roy, i think he would whoop Ward with relative ease. I also think he's one of very few that could beat Monzon at 160.

I kinda meant just 10 fights at middle SM and LH ,just so u get a good read on both of em

More of a debate I really believe Joe C could beat him to

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

so ward/dawson only had a single episode of 24/7?

i'd seriously watch that show regardless of who is fighting. think they should've gone w/ the normal 4 ep's and set this fight up right.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

I've seen every titlefight of Roy Jones' career. I really don't think it's close if you rate middleweight-light heavy, but that's not what i said.

It's ONLY about wins at 168lbs.

I think it's coming for Martinez/Chavez too.

Good. I'm so bored with Pac/Floyd 24/7's.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

Flintoff seems like a bit of a prick so hopefully I can see him get knocked out at some point. Not likely though, his first fight will be as close to a set-up as you can get.

I haven't bothered watching the 24/7 for Ward-Dawson, will probably watch the Martinez-Chavez ones. I'm tired of the whole format really, particularly the pretentious closing monologues by the narrator. I think they showed with "On Freddie Roach" that no narration is necessary.

Oh I'm definitely a huge fan of the Rocky films. Instead of debating Ward vs Calzaghe we should be debating Lang vs Drago!

Drago murders Lang. Not even discussion worthy.

How about Creed in his prime (not old man ****ty Rocky 4 Creed) vs. Drago? I still give it to Drago because of his sheer power, but Creed is really light on his feet. He would definitely make it entertaining.

It's a bit of an unfair debate though as Drago was clearly juicing.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

you can't beat Drago without extreme toughness. Clubber would have no shot.

Apollo was tough in his prime, but he severely outskilled Rocky and got beat by a bigger heart.

I think Drago had an off night against Rocky. In a rematch it's probably KO 2nd.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

It's funny when you compare the beastly antagonists of the first four films with Tommy Gunn and Mason Dixon. Of course Gunn and Dixon were actually played by boxers (Tommy Morrison and Antonio Tarver) but they come across as pathetic when compared to Creed, Lang and Drago.
