Now Paul " The Punisher " Williams has been involved in a motorcycle accident and by all accounts is paralysed from the waist down .

I was looking forward to his fight with Alvarez ..

I have never heard of him but Thai super-bantamweight Thangthong Kiattaweesuk and his wife died in a car accident today. What a terrible day for boxing.

i never really knew much about tapia besides just reading stories about him. haven't actually seen him fight beyond highlights. tragic story. paul williams is one of my favorite boxers and one whose career i always felt should have been much bigger than it was. that sucks so much

I suppose Gary Mason is the odd-one-out here because his death was a straightforward accident, could have happened to anyone. The rest are either suicides or come as a result of their fighter mentality. You have to be kind of crazy to become a pro boxer and I'm guessing the repeated blows do the head only make matters worse.

Just watched the video on ESPN. Apparently Williams is 100% paralyzed from the waist down and will never walk again. So sad.

Yeah according to everything I've read, Williams severed the spinal cord. That's the type of injury from which recovery is impossible. Incredibly sad.

sucks about williams. I don't like him very much but what the hell. Horrible for anyone and especially an athlete.

well looks like they are putting in james kirkland in place of paul williams to fight canelo

kind of like it actually...kirkland looked so bad last fight but canelo still has alot to prove as well, both guys need a win in this bad imo

man i need to get a twitter, i saw it reported kirkland was fighting just last night I think. ugh boxing

guess i'll watch that random main event tonight on nbcsports even though I have no idea who these guys are..maybe it will be good. That or drive 40 mins to the casino...didn't sleep at all last night and got my wisdom teeth out so a bit hopped up on painkillers so casino prob not a good idea

meh yea TUF finale tonight too i forgot..not really excited for any of these but spectacular KO one time plz

ugh sorry for double post but just thought i should point out something I didn't realize until 10 secs ago is there is an epix app for xbox and a 2 week free trial opportunity..epix is the channel that had the bute/froch fight I don't have a computer right now so i missed it, not sure if they will have any fights of that caliber in the future but if they do its worth it to get the free trial and just watch the fight..I certainly would have done it for that fight had I known
