Wow... Rios got the decision.

Whats the point in watching boxing nowadays. Rios won at most 3 rounds, and that's being generous.

i went sour on boxing after campillo got robbed. just one too many robberies for me to handle.

now i tune in and get this ****.

probably wont watch a lot of boxing for a while. ****ing tired of this and it's never changing.

i mean seriously. Cotto and Bradley cant even win their next fights even IF they do "win". No chance in hell they will get the nod even with a shutout victory.

Is there something that can be done about these obvious stitch ups ?

Boxing needs a governing body that is above all others and answers to nobody and have the power to investigate these things and act accordingly ..

Seems to me ..people like Arum just own all the right people in these fights and he seems accountable to nobody ..

There needs to be some kind of group of people that are independent and have the power to sack judges that do this kind of crap ..regardless of how much protection people like Arum give them to help his cause.

lol @ that rogan/fury fight last night. Town and country knew about the 5th round stoppage. It was 9/1 a few hours before the fight, ended up at 15/2.

word is rogan had 10k on it @ 9s

He cut it tight ... only five seconds left on the round and it was his corner-man that said enough is enough.

Unless ...... he was in on it as well ..... pretty well played all round then

Haha, I actually didn't see the fight, my mate rings me during the 2nd round and tells me about the supposed riggage.

Does that mean offering 50/1 on Bradley to win by points is a decent thing to offer on some site like Betfair ?

I think punters would look at that and think its worth a punt even though everyone knows thats the last result possible.

I would say that Bradley is more likely to win on points than to win by stoppage. Anyway, 50/1 would be crazy, don't do it!

kingofcool is correct ...there is ZERO chance Bradley wins on points ...i think you could make a few quid offering good odds because some are bound to take you up on the offer.

Bradley will not outwork the Pacman ... and even if he does .. it will be marginal and you just will not get the decision with Arum floating about when its marginal ...

Not saying Bradley wont win my TKO though ...although even that will be classed as a draw.

Mayweather Cotto 24/7 is up on HBO GO for those that have used it (if you have HBO you get it for free and it's pretty awesome to have pretty much every good HBO series on your computer at any time).

It was alright, pretty much just a bunch of Floyd talking about how he's the best in the world and boxing on HBO wouldn't be **** without him but whatever, for boxing fans it's a fun watch.

If you pay for HBO you in turn receive HBO GO for free, as part of the HBO package. This allows you to watch HBO programming from ipad/iphone/laptop ect.

My provider didn't have it for a few months, hopefully they all get it eventually.

In terms of boxing how are you all perceiving this fight? I love Cotto (or pretty much anyone in the opposite corner of Floyd) but this might be just another huge blowout. At least it has forced Floyd to move up in weight for only the second time but I just don't see this going in a much different way than the Shane Mosley fight.

When I watched the second Cotto/Margarito fight I was impressed by Cotto but not by as much as I would have hoped and without Margarito's eye as a problem I could have seen it turning out in a similar fashion as the first :/

The problem with Cotto (besides the speed deficit) is that his trainer is trying to implement the "perfect plan" to try and beat Mayweather. That's pretty much the problem though. When the plan doesn't work out the fighter gets frustrated and Floyd puts on a clinic for the next 10 rounds.

Cotto is +555/-680 to win the fight (around 15%)

I think cotto almost never beats mayweather decisively. But if he fights smart (throws a lot of punches when floyd is on the ropes) and doesn't quit mentally (like he did in the pacquiao fight), he has a chance to force enough close rounds where 2/3 judges could potentially score the fight for him. The odds of all these things going his way makes the odds about right imo.

Aside from the odds...the fight is very interesting. Cotto is better than EVERYONE Floyd has beaten to this point. You could say Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo in their prime, but that was at 130/135>154.

Also, I'm impressed by cotto's trainer. He seems very competent at giving Cotto his best possible chance to succeed strategically/mentally. But Floyd is 100% the better boxer, so Cotto basically has to fight the perfect fight just to have a chance at 2/3 judges scoring it for him.

Problem is that Pac/PBF don't lose rounds on judges' cards like...ever. Hyperbole obv but they still get the superstar discount, which sucks in fights like Pac/JMM and possibly, but not probably, this one.

As much as i like Cotto ... most boxing fans do btw .. he has virtually no chance against Mayweather.

Best Floyd fight in years, even more exciting than his knock out of Ricky Hatton imo. Cotto really impressed me and he still got outclassed and outboxed in almost every round which should cement any doubters of Floyd that he really is the best pound for pound right now. I still hate him, but I can't help but appreciate his craft.
