Cotto fight is pointless, especially at 147. I guess fighting Bradley would be OK, since I haven't seen Pac fight him yet, but I think he picks Cotto because it's better for him financially. I don't think Bradley stands much of a chance though.

Still have some hope that Floyd-Pac can fight in May, but that's diminishing by the second. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait until November.

I don't think Cotto is better financially. How much would Cotto vs Pac do? like 1.1? Tops.

Bradley vs Pac probably does slightly shy of a million, maybe more if Bradley goes gangsta ****** on 24/7.

Thing is though, Bradley will fight for peanuts. Cotto not so much.

bradley gets crushed, and who doesn't want to see that? Also it's fresh and the opponent is legit. It's refreshing.

WBO president just said:

""I was told by Bob Arum that Pacquiao would fight in June, not in May.""

So yeah. Fight probably dead.

Just read Showtime rejected Bute vs Froch because they want Bute to fight an American. wtf? That was a fight I really wanted to see.

Floyd better hope is is able to get Canelo for his 5th May date because his options look very slim otherwise.

LOL Floyd can get who he wants. If the money's right, anyone would fight him.

Canelo is a special case though - if everything goes well for him over the next few years he could well be in the same earning bracket as Floyd and Manny. So I just don't see why they would take maybe $5 million or whatever and fight Floyd in what will probably be a one-sided beatdown.

Other than that there is Khan and Peterson, one is coming off a loss, though I still wouldn't mind seeing it, and the other just isn't particularly interesting. I'd like to see Peterson in a big fight though, he has my eternal respect for beating Khan.

Floyd on twitter saying he is ready to fight 5/5/12 and the date won't change. He's putting Arum on blast. Meh... fight isn't happening May 5th unless some miracle happens (i.e. Manny says F U Arum and fights Floyd against his wishes).

I guess we'll have to wait 'til November. Good news is that Floyd wants the fight now, and Arum wants it in November, so I am confident it will happen then. Too bad it will be 3 years too late.

Pac better step up or he'll look like a b****. I wish Floyd gave his reasons on why the date can't change though, but w/e.

Nope, but Peterson has agreed to a rematch.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Peterson won another really controversial decision in the re-match? I think I would actually prefer that to him getting the KO.

....isn't this because he's going to jail?

He's going to jail June 1st. I'd wanted to know why he can't change it to late May. Today, Ellerbe says they can't change it because of contractual obligations with the MGM Grand, which is what I expected.

---

Apparently Floyd is willing to fight Martinez at 150. Good fight, but Martinez has a fight schedule for March 17th, so he's probably unavailable for May 5th unless he cancels. Only problem I have is the 150 catchweight. Sergio's going to have a tough time making it.

Well, that's that. Manny isn't fighting Mayweather in May. He'll fight june 9th in Bob Arum stadium.

Arum says they'll do the fight in Nov.

I dont like this move one bit. They going to do a fight in November? Seems highly unlikely as Floyd jr gets out of jail in late August or early September. Not enough time for 5/5 but will be enough with 8-10 weeks then?
Sounds like utter b.s to me.
I read an article on this stadium and the money it could generate. I feel its a good read as its Bobs only(?) excuse to why its not happening. http://theboxingtruth.com/article.php?id=2035
This looks rly bad imo... Paq reputation shot to ****.

hmm.. You're right. If Floyd gets out in Sept 1st (3 months), then November would be unlikely. Floyd probably gets out early, though. If not, they can always have the fight late Nov or in December.

And I agree. Pac's rep has taken a big drop.

With us...yeah

With his countrymen for whom this, and not having his most recent fight being a loss to PBF, will be spun, not really.

So apparently Mayweather has ruled out fighting Alvarez and Cotto. If that is true, and given that the Pacquiao fight obviously isn't happening nor is Martinez unless he cancels the Macklin fight, it only really leaves Lamont Peterson or Amir Khan.
