On a side note I have been waiting all year for this Saturdays fight ,CAN'T WAIT......

Chisora did really well against Helenius (I had him winning 12-0). I think he can make it competitive.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

I don't know partygirl. I agree that chisora beat helenius, but he also struggled greatly against Tyson Fury. He couldn't overcome his reach at all.
And helenius apparently suffered a broken hand early in the fight, so I won't rate the win as greatly as i would have otherwise.

I guess we'll see. I think Vitali uses his reach and pace to just smother and outclass chisora. Eventually stopping him in the 8-12th round.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

Unless Vitali suddenly looks his age, he beats Chisora 19 times out of 20 imo and the other time is a cut or something. Still, Chisora has talent and Vitali is 40 so who knows.

This would be my prediction for Vitali against anyone in the top ten (including his brother)

If anyone deserves a big fight then it's Chisora. Wladimir pulled out of a fight against him twice and then he got royally screwed in Helstinky. It won't end well for him though.

btw this fight above is a great example of how fcked up boxing is. this was even worse than the khan decision.

I thought about betting on khan at -1400.... thank god i didn't bc i prolly would have blown my whole sports roll to win very little. Boxing def is the worst sport to bet on imo.
iirc at least two of the judges were suspended for this abomination

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

I think ward wins on Sat.
chisora will take a beating vs vitali. Never watched his fight vs fury. Did he have problems getting inside? Vitali punishes anyone trying to get inside.

even wlad's pretty good @ that too.

Speaking of Khan, he is appealing the loss now apparently. Maybe he should enter a whiny little ***** contest instead, at least he may win that one.

lol did u see the fight? It was BS. The ref clearly favored lamont and the scoring of the fight was a disgrace. Amir was more active and landed more punches throughout the fight.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

How did you score it? The total of landed punches doesn't really matter because boxing is scored round by round.

All three of the judges would have had Khan ahead if it were not for the point deductions, most agree that it was a close fight so you can't really complain about the judging. The controversial aspects of the fight were the issue of the knockdown(s) and the point deductions. I think the knockdowns were both borderline and on another day both could have been given or both could have been called slips (the first Peterson's feet seemed to tangle with the referee's and it looks like Khan pushes him down for the second.) As for the pushing....

Oh come one, you can't seriously be suggesting there is genuine grounds for an appeal? I did see the fight, sort of half concentrating, but all the pundits I've heard had it very close either way. There were anew marginal calls but so what, unless you want about 50% of results appealed this is pretty much a joke.

And as for Khan not being a whiny little *****, if that's what you are saying, did you actually see any of his interviews?

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

khan have no shot at getting this overturned or to even have anyone linked to the fight suspended or whatever hes aiming at.
He lost fair and square. Most judges wouldn't have deducted the points, but the ref was well within his rights to do so according to the rules set out.

Amir has a huge ego. I think he "needs" to believe he didn't lose. Combine that with being surrounded by yes men and this is what happens.
Hopefully deep down he realize he needs to buckle down and train his ass off and not take his potential greatness for granted.

Froch is prob my favourite fighter in Europe right now so hopefully he pulls it out of the bag tonight.

Interested to see Kell Brook fighting on the undercard as well.
