I think Barrera is his best win. Most important win? Oscar. Because of the financial aspect of it all.

I also think Morales is slightly greater fighter (resume, legacy) than Barrera, but theres really an argument for either guy.
The reason why i rank Barrera as a better win for Pac is that he was more of a prime fighter when Pac got to him. Morales was still live when Pac beat him, but he had some struggles by then. The third fight i don't really care about between the two.

At third place I'd put jmm. Hes just really a distant third of the mexican trio when it comes to resume and legacy. His ability as a fighter is up there with the others though.

How would you rate it C-viggity?

The victories over Ricky Hatton by both Pac and Floyd were much better than Victor Ortiz. Remember, the only world-class fighter ortiz had beaten was Andre Berto (who himself was very overrated) and he quit against Maidana.

The only Pacquiao matchup I really, really hated was the Mosley matchup, and I'm pretty sure I was vocal about that itt as well. That one was an abortion, I will not argue that.

English is not my native language, but with 140+ i means anything over 140.

Hatton was a fine victory.

Wasn't a fan of Margarito at 150 for a vacant 154 title either. Actually, i hated it. Not quite as much as the mosley fight, but close.

Pac vs Marquez 3 is at an unreasonable weight. He showed against floyd he packs on the weight very differently compared to how pac has. It's credible at 135.

Pac vs Clottey was a "omg we need an opponent quick!!" kind of deal, so thats ok in my books.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

I don't see anybody Mayweather can fight aside from Pacquiao, Martinez, or Amir Khan. He's not going to fight Martinez (too big, too dangerous), and the fight with Amir Khan is still a year+ away. So unless Mayweather wants to take another year+ off to wait for Amir Khan, he is going to be forced to fight Pacquiao. Since Pacquiao has said on multiple occasions that the drug testing isn't an issue anymore, and Mayweather said he is not thinking about retirement, I think the fight will finally happen May 2012.

That is assuming, of course, Mayweather doesn't find some other way of stopping the fight (i.e. demanding more than 50/50 split). Also assuming Pacquiao beat JMM.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

I'd like to talk more about how bitchface and C-Vig don't understand why people like me hate on Mayweather...a guy who acts tough and gets in the face of physically intimidating journalists like Brian Kenny and Larry Merchant, a guy who beats up on women, a guy who spews racist tripe in webcam rants, a guy who's a grade A scumbag that continues the proud Mayweather family tradition of being grade A scumbags...

...but as soon as I dish out some hate hate hate, I'm a racist? Really?

That's awful posting by you two and both of you should know better. Maybe I'm off in my opinions or my assessment of the situation, fine. But don't ****ing dare call me a racist for hating on an extremely detestable excuse for a human being. I mean, I only write about 500 posts a season expressing my mancrush for Jarome Iginla. That's a ridiculous accusation.

Those are the 3 credible matchups i can think of.

But seriously. An Ortiz rematch i think is more than 50% chance of happening. It's an easy sell, and the 24/7 would probably be crazy.
I hate the idea of it, but I'm realistic. I think It's a high % chance of happening. Just like i wouldn't be shocked to see Pac vs Cotto/Margarito winner (i would start a riot if that happens).

And nah, neither floyd or pac will fight Martinez. I think Khan is a lock to fight Mayweather at some point. That would do huge numbers.
May 2012, Khan vs Mayweather at wembley or something.
March-June 2012, Pac vs Bradley (most likely).

That way both fighters have made the max amount of $$$ without losing their appeal (as in losing a fight during their current run) and there won't be much else left.

Oh there will be a roadblock for sure. By either side.

Pac will destroy jmm.

I would love to see some gameshow on this. The pacquiaos vs the mayweathers.

Has to be two of the most dysfunctional scumbag families in the history of this sport.

Don't listen to the "omg racist" remarks. Happens all the time. I've been called a racist on another board when i criticized mayweather. And I'm actually a fan of his (the fighter).

To me, 140+ means 140 and above.

Can we talk about how ****ing cool Erik Morales is. The guy barely moves his feet anymore and his reflexes are gone but he is still amazing to watch. There was a punch he landed roughly half way through the fight where he feinted to the body then landed to the head which reminded me of the good old days.

Khan needs to have a fight at welterweight before fighting Mayweather, imo. Even Khan says so.

Floyd giving Ortiz a rematch would be terrible. I don't think anybody would want to see that.

I only consider it a perfect record if they have 100% ko ratio lol.

I agree with everything here. Khan-Mayweather in Wembley would be pretty ****ing cool.

Martinez's best prospects for major cards in his final few prime years lay in moving up to 168 lbs. imo. Not really interested in seeing him fight Chavez Jr., let Canelo take care of him.

Best case scenario would obviously be Pac-PBF and Khan-Bradley fighting around the same time in mid 2012.

posted in another thread, but I'm just amazed at how undersized floyd really is for the weight. him and pac actually are really close in size, both weight and height with like 1inch/1-2lbs advantage going to floyd. Or something like that.

everything in this post is either awful or wrong

mark jackson is awful

floyd is not 42... huh?

Floyd is not even close to top 5 of all time.

FWIW, I don't think Manny is top five either, but he's close. Floyd isn't close yet. The top 3 or 4 (depending on how you look at it) have resumes that are so good they're almost impossible to imagine unseating. Guys like Henry Armstrong, who was a 3 division champ when there was one championship per weight class, and only 8 weight classes. Oh, and he actively held all 3 belts at the same time. And drew the champion for a 4th, in a fight most thought he won. This guy was literally a point from being a champ of half of the titles in the world. And he's only #3, #4 or #5 on some lists, even for boxing historians.

That's what you're going up against to get near the top 5.
