I like how Mayweather proved himself to be the biggest dbag of all time, while Ortiz is apparently the nicest guy in the history of the world.

Manny is the hero vs Floyd the villian. Really is the WWE.

Like most people, he thought both boxers would wait until he gave the go ahead, which I don't think he ever did.

Might be wrong tho IDK

cant wait to see this

What's lost here is that it was a decent back-and-forth fight up to that point. PBF wins in the long run, but it would've been good for a while.

Not only did he not give the go-ahead, the wasn't even looking at them. He was talking to the time/score keepers at ringside.

world implode pretty much.

Ortiz is a ****ing scumbag for blatantly headbutting. It was one of the worse headbutt attempts I've seen in the sport (tho the result = not so bad).

I think Floyd was right in giving Ortiz some kind of scumbag move in return, but ending the fight = way excessive and in the end anticlimactic.

No rematch thanks. Fight Martinez or Pac or I'm possibly not tuning in again.
If you talk about retirement again, I'm also done.

Also, show some respect to people whos been in this sport longer than you. I know Merchant is biased, but that was way out of line.

Cortez turning away like that? Very unlike him.

Wonder if there was any fix going on.

I dunno, feels like it was pre-planned to get a rematch. Why is Ortiz smiling like a cheshire cat after the fight? Why is such a high level fighter not defending himself?

No wonder UFC has taken over.

You have to hand it to Floyd..it pretty much is impossible to be that character/insane and be actually masterful at your sport.

looked like he did give the go ahead with the standard hand gesture, but then realized he had to check with the time keeper to start the clock again... then chaos ensued

Well in fairness to him, he wasn't fighting at the time. The referee had seperated the fighters, paused the fight to penalize one of them, and not given the signal to start again.

I called 20 bars in my neighborhood, no one carried it.

The two best fighters won't get in the ring together.

Probably the two best heavy weight fighters are brothers.

The refs are a joke.

The official scorers are a joke.

It's just too bad because it's such a wonderful sport.

What a weird fight, ye would not be surprised if there was some fix involved.
I mean wtf is the ref doing, shouldn't gayweather be disqualified for that. I'm stunned ref didn't seem to give a **** even though he clearly didn't restart the fight, he wasn't even looking at them.

Agree...Still think PBF wins in the end. I don't think they should rematch, I don't think it changes the outcome of the fight. It was unfortunate that the fight ended that way, but it's done. I can see arguments to both sides.

Pretty hilarious that people are taking what PBF did to heart...

Reminds me of the old WWF when the referee would go to the turnbuckle to tie his shoe, and someone like Flair would pull brass knuckles out and pop his opponent. Ref turns and Flair gets the ol' one-two-three!

The Nevada Boxing commission should declare the bout a no contest, since the referee wasn't looking and I'm not sure he ever said fight. Then they should strip the fighters of the bulk of their purses. You just can't allow blatant wwe promotion. Ortiz should have been incensed, instead he was "good fight right guys!". Probably on the take. The way he lost makes us hate Mayweather much more and hypes him even more as the uber-villain. It's just too perfect. It's a fraud.

Just...wow. I guess Mayweather doesn't get fined or his purse withheld for that.

Though Joe Cortez should lose a paycheck. Name one competent referee that actually turns *away* from a fight. Goddammit, you're supposed to have your eyes on the fight at all time.

Was the time clock even ticking? I thought the ref had to bring them back together and restart the fight after ref a time out. I do not know the exact rules but, if the ref has not restarted the fight how can they award a winner?
