he avoided Tyson for all his career or rather until he knew for certain Tyson no longer posed a credible threat to him.

dustbin champion.
Lennox's brother is a more, er, colourful character.

i do agree lewis was not as formulaic as wladimir, and he for sure is the better fighter. Lewis is so seriously underrated by a lot of people. I think he is skillwise a top3 heavyweight and resumewise hes around 5-7(?).

I could see Wlad doing those things to Grant yes. ****ing garbage fighter.

[quote]Who cares if the Klits have nearly cleared out the heavyweight division - they don't get to share wins[/qoute]
So we need to see chambers vs vitali now?

They dont get to share wins, but they both gets flack for the opposition they face, even though they face the highest ranked fighters they can.

they fight in a ****ty era. They are doing the best they can with what theyre dealt.

Huge potential, and hes far from a bum.

that Golota, yeah he was a bum. (i may be exaggerating slightly, but he was never top class fighter)
Did you see Golota pre bowe (or against bowe for that matter).

agree Lewis and Wlad both fighting guys that are beneath them, but why oh why do/did they have to be so negative in their approach to guys that are clearly beneath them?
what?

for Lewis and Wlad they were/are the best of a bad bunch and they are not some legendary fighters imo.
This goes for Wlad, but Lewis?

Lewis has a very good resume.
Tyson, Klitschko, Holyfield are A-listers (could argue Tyson, but he was game and still had something in him.

His resume is also filled with very good fighters like golota, prime tua.
Also some good fighters like Mercer, Morrison, Ruddock, mccall, bruno, tucker etc.

Lewis only really lacks Riddick Bowe on his resume. And whos fault is that?

Also claiming Lennox avoided Tyson, are you for real?

Aren't you british btw? You should be very proud of lewis, hes alot better than pretty much anything coming out of GB for the last 20-30 years.

Behind the Ropes

Such a let down.

24/7 on HBO being so damn good probably doesn't help.

What I'm trying to say about the brothers is that they are different fighters. They may look the same but they actually have some very obvious differences when you compare strengths and weaknesses (eg chin, heart, agility, Vitali's unorthodox style etc) So I think it is unfair that people assume that Chris Arreola, for example, got whipped against Vitali therefore Wlad would also beat him.

lol @ Golota being a bum, he was destroying Bowe in their first fight.

Being a headcase is far different from being a bum.

unfair? Yeah sort of. But it's just a logical conclusion. Arreola is way too slow to tag Wladimir and he will just get outboxed.

I do agree that we can't count it as a win for Wladimir (ofcourse not).
At the same time i think it's a big premature to talk about Haye as a top hw, because to be honest his resume is **** at the weight. I just assume he is one of the topdogs from the way he fights.

lol no and very proud not to be

i'm not a Lewis fan, never have been.

"what?" - their approach to fighting is not to my liking, safety first makes for very boring fights imo and it's worse when it's "safety first" against fighters that clearly are beneath them.

noJacket called it, i got Golota and Botha mixed up.

I have always felt and still feel that mayweather beats pac man.

below is a quote from pretty boy.

"It’s not just Pacquiao, it’s sports, period,” Mayweather said. “If you look at sports in the Olympics, they’re cheating. Everyone is cheating. And I never once said Manny Pacquiao was cheating, only thing I said was this: Me and any other opponent I face must take the test.”

sounds reasonable to me. quit stalling pac man.

Except Pacquiao already agreed to the tests during their last round of negotiations and the deal still fell through.

Remarkable that people are actually still fooled by this bull****. If Mayweather actually had the best interests of the sport in mind, he would've already fought Pacquiao. But he doesn't, nor does he care about the state of the sport, so long as it's there to refill his coffers when he loses another chunk of millions on sports betting or smacks up another baby mama and needs to pay the legal team bills.

Mayweather is, and always has been, a pathetic mother****ing bitch.

Hopefully Victor Ortiz is as pumped up for the Mayweather fight as he was against Berto, he looked like a man possessed that night.

Is there any chance Ortiz can do anything interesting to PBF?

If he's aggressive and doesn't have a heart problem he could bother Floyd. I think Ortiz will force Floyd to actively defend himself and return fire early in the fight and hopefully the action will continue to the end but unfortunately knowing Floyd it's more likely he backs off, goes safety first, and just potshots his way to a decision win unless Ortiz out right quits in frustration.

No. Floyd by tko, ko or unanimous decisions.

I appreciate floyds skills. He hits so hard on top of everything else he does great, that his opponents are always worried about the fire he is returning.

If ortiz rushes in, he will get knocked cold like hatton.

Floyd wins going away either way.

What people need to remember about Victor Ortiz is that he has only ever beaten one world class fighter - Andre Berto. And even then he was badly hurt several times. My expectations for this fight are low but I'm hoping for the best.

There seems to be more talk about the ring entrances today rather than the fight itself. Whatever happened to the simple walk to the ring? Turning it into the WWF.

Anyway, will be watching the fight in a house party. So good to have such a big fight on at 10pm instead of the old 4am job.

What are peoples thoughts on Haye winning on points? Do you think it's possible? Fight being in Germany and all. I think Haye is gonna knock him out between rounds 4-6. For the majority of the build up I've been on Wlad's side but something keeps telling me Haye is going to do it.

Agree 100%. In Germany it seems to be the worsed. Did you see Felix Sturm's entrance last week? He kept Macklin waiting in the ring for about 15 minutes. I think we now know why one of the sticking points of the contract for Wladimir was that he has to enter the ring second, Haye's gonna have a long wait tonight.

Yeah, commented itt about Sturm. It was an absolute disgrace but Macklin had been told it was gonna happen (not that it matters). How it was allowed to happen in the first place is mind-boggling.
