Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

I still have hope we will see the Pac/Mayweather fight in early 2012.

I also have hope I will win the Euromillions tonight.

I saw Jim Watt described as "boxing's Louis Walsh" earlier. I can't say I'm too familiar with the X-Factor, but I assume that he's a **** so it's probably justified.

Klitschko v Haye

Anyone really giving Haye a chance in this?

Current odds on Betfair

Klitschko 1.6
Haye 2.75
Draw 50

Tempted to lump on Klits now but there's always a chance the country gets patriotic and Haye's price falls in the hours leading up to the fight.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

Wlad has a bad chin and Haye is a big puncher who is quick so should be able to land occasionally. So yes he has, at the very least, a puncher's chance.

Behind The Ropes is on right now. Sky+ing, will watch later.

I think this is Sky's version of 24/7.

Hmm betting Klitscko win and Haye win by KO to offset a loss could be the way. Will have to see how the odds move.

Would love to bet this fight in play but my mates are organising a night out around this

haha Louis splashed all over the papers here at weekend, he was arrested for feeling up some guy, guy didn't like it and reported him. (i just read headline so no sure if he was arrested)

---

no way would I pay to watch Haye after the shambles against Fraudley, still I would like to see him beat Klitschko.

the 2 brothers being champs (with no chance of ever facing each other) is the worst thing that could have happened to the HW division and their boring style of fighting makes me want to puke.

Klitschko NO.2 pound for pound fighter (according to his wiki) my arse, who has he beat that was a decent fighter? nothing but a bunch of duds he been beating.

chagaev, chris byrd, chambers, brewster are quite decent. Between both brothers theyve beaten pretty much everyone except for Haye, adamek, Helenius and povetkin.

Haye and adamek are upcoming, helenius too unproven imo, and povetkin refuse to fight them.

klitschko is of course not #2 p4p. The poster that typed that in goes by boxrec's computerized rankings.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

agree between both brothers they have beaten virtually everyone but none are worth mentioning because the HW division been dead for a long time.

i dislike the 'hide behind your jab and do not get punched at all costs' style employed by Wlad and copied from Lewis (another **** i didn't like).

honestly I hope Haye knocks him senseless.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

Please don't put Lennox Lewis in the same category as Wladimir Klitschko. Lewis was safety first to a degree (obviously more than Tyson etc) but he stepped it up a lot earlier and harder than Wlad ever would. Can you imagine Wladimir doing what Lennox did to Golota or Grant? No way.

Who cares if the Klits have nearly cleared out the heavyweight division - they don't get to share wins.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

Golota and Grant = bum of the month. (yes i'm being serious)

Lewis was negative as **** after he was caught by McCall, boring boring fighter and he also talked thru the side of his mouth (Rio Ferdinand style) sometimes in English others times Jamaican or Canadian, he just annoys me.

he avoided Tyson for all his career or rather until he knew for certain Tyson no longer posed a credible threat to him.

dustbin champion.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

I thought it was Tyson avoiding Lewis? Didn't Tyson pay Lewis not to fight him at one point?

Or did I dream all of this? (entirely possible)

You're right Kevin, Tyson wanted no part of Lewis, neither did Riddick Bowe.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

he may have paid Lewis when he was basically a novice compared to Tyson a few quid so that a bigger payday could be made with someone else. (all about the £££$$$$$)

unless i dreamed it too.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

Calling Andrew Golota a bum is ridiculous. Even if you do consider Golota to be a bum, my point was the difference when Lewis and Wlad fought guys that were beneath them.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

Golota the Polish dude that Tyson tried to break his arm?

that Golota, yeah he was a bum. (i may be exaggerating slightly, but he was never top class fighter)

agree Lewis and Wlad both fighting guys that are beneath them, but why oh why do/did they have to be so negative in their approach to guys that are clearly beneath them?

for Lewis and Wlad they were/are the best of a bad bunch and they are not some legendary fighters imo.
