Hopefully this PPV does terrible numbers. There was a time in the UK when you had to be a global superstar to get on PPV e.g Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis and Naseem Hamed. I can't help but feel this is Audley Harrison's fault, he completley turned terrestrial TV off boxing. Now we have a PPV headlined by four guys who are not even household names in Britain and who have never won a world title between them. (LOL WBO)

The thing that annoys me is that surely Sky realise why Ricky Hatton became so hugely popular. He was fighting on Friday and Saturday nights regularly on Sky Sports. He built up his following which enabled Sky to bring him to Box Office and therefore get the big PPV numbers.

I mean wtf has Cleverly/De Gale/Groves actually done to be rewarded with a PPV show?

Answer: Nothing.

there was nothing close about the fight. Roy narrowly won the first round, and might have had the 3rd round tied. From there on he looked gassed and took quite a bit of punishment and without a doubt lost every round.

scorecards will be published tomorrow probably. def 1st, 3rd(2nd was close imo), then took some 'punishment' but then it kinda evened out again(i don't remember exact round numbers) though denis tried to steal some rounds in the end(when roy was more active whole round but last 30seconds), surely won 9th and 10th could've even been 10-8.
i really don't know why did he do that - he wasn't well prepared (commentators near the ring said he was 'in terrible condition' and imo he was like tyson in tyson-lewis) and didn't look very motivated either so it wasn't for the love of boxing, he didn't think he's well known in russia, so not 'for his fans' and i doubt he made any serious money. i heard he wasn't even paid for his fight with hopkins (ppv+tickets~=$5m, -~50% for taxes and promoters ~=2.5mil, according to contract hopkins gets first 3.5 mil, then jones gets 3.5mil then they chop whats left)
