I don't see Pavlik fighting at 168. I thought this slside he has been on started with moving up from 160 (yeah a staph infection and alcoholism doesnt help either). Lets get Ghost some ring time before we start talking Bute.

That ringwalk of Bute's reminding me a little of Prince Nassem Hamed. Gotta play it up for the home crowd I guess. I actually looked at my wife and said "Drago?"

Marty did you see the 2nd fight? I've seen some rigged scoring but that was downright embarrassing.

Reid is obviously stone broke. Can't blame him for taking the money.

This will be an interesting final, Fielding the fresher man for sure. If Webb wins he will have def earned it.

Edit - Fielding just way too strong along with the fact that Webb was shattered. 4 rounds for £37k, not a bad nights work.

Just got round to watching this today. The scorecard from the second fight might be the worst I've ever seen and I've seen a lot of bad scorecards. Sky did a horrible job of explaining why it was so bad, they didn't make the point clear that to score it 30-28 meant that Ainscough didn't lose a round. Which is insane considering he was losing the third round even before the knockdown happened. What a joke.

Garcia doesnt want his mandatory yet and I don't blame him. It was good for Gamboa to come out and take care of business agaon after two fights that went the distance. The guy is an absolute beast.

I want to see Gamboa-Lopez so badly, their styles should make a great fight and the winner would become a superstar. Hopefully Bob Arum stops being a **** and makes it happen.

On the pound for pound rankings Roy Jones said, "Nobody else comes close to Pacquiao, Mayweather and Donaire". Gamboa sure looked like he's knocking on that door last night. He can box, he can move, he's smart, quick, creative, athletic, and punches with power. Last night he was devastating and just as importantly, exciting to watch. He's definitely something special. If Gamboa-Lopez ever gets made he will get his chance to show just how special.

I don't blame Arum for wanting the Gamboa-Lopez matchup to build to its potential - Arum thinks it can be the biggest featherweight fight of all time. But while a build up can juice the payoff there's also a risk in waiting. Things happen. It does no good to bring the pot to a boil if you then let it all boil away. There's something to be said for striking when the iron is hot and assuming Lopez looks good against Salido in April the iron feels pretty hot right now.

However, no matter how well Arum hypes Gamboa-Lopez I can't see it being in the class of a Pacquiao-Mayweather superfight. But if Gamboa is as special as he impressed me last night, and the Boxing gods smile on us, I can see such a Superfight developing somewhere down the road between Donaire and Gamboa as Donaire continues to move up.

Good post, Donaire-Gamboa would be sick.

Is it just me or is the sport in a better place now than it has been for quite a while? even the heavyweights could be about to get interesting (about time) with the Klits, Haye and Adamek about to get it on.
