The problem is the only person that will give Pac a competitive fight is on "vacation"

Mosley might have a chance if Pacman was wearing 5 pound weights on his forearms during the fight.

Lol David Haye.

The guy keeps on ducking the Klitschko's.

Apparently he didnt want to fight on April 30th because the day before is the Royal wedding of William and his bitch which would take away from the publicity of the fight.

Seriously make more excuses dude.

Devon Alexander vs. Timothy Bradley is gonna be an awsome fight and winner should fight Pac next. Pacquiao needs to fights guys who are in their prime at least.......its getting old

Khan should be fighting the winner of this but if Alexander or Bradley unifies the division I agree that it'd be great if Manny dropped back down to 140 to lay down the law again. Potentially this could be a November fight next year if Mayweather is still retired, in prison, or otherwise unwilling to fight Manny.

I doubt a Khan/Pacquaio fight would ever happen since Roach trains both and they've sparred a fair bit. I assume Khan is smart enough and seen enough to realize he wants no part of Manny in an actual fight.

I did not like it at all. Thought it was predictable, corny, very "Hollywood", fight scenes sucked, boxing discussions were lame, and they hyped up this megafight against a nobody. Marky Mark was predictably terrible, as was the love story. They didn't even show the Gatti fights. 3/10.

Interesting marketing happening as future fights appear to move away from HBO towards mainstream tv.

Good move by Arum. This fight isn't going to sell well among the serious boxing fans. Now he gets to bring in the casual observer who wants to find out what Pac is all about and then they are going to see him destroy Mosley and will buy future fights.

I wouldn't be suprised to see Arum do something like Saturday Afternoon Fights on CBS, but given that he doesn't play well with other promoters, it will just be a Top Rank showcase.

It would be very cool to see fights on network TV again. I still remember watching fights on Sat afternoon as a kid.

Pac vs Mosley was never meant for serious boxing fans. This is pure speculation, but the hardcore boxing fans usually find the free streams online. I'm one that is willing to see a PPV in polish, rather than find a friend to convince to split the PPV (i don't have cable). Gibby, your other points about the casual fan make sense.

I thought Erik Morales v JMM (4-5 years too late) was set in stone but apparently its not due to money (ldo).

JMM claiming he has been offered Morales, Khan or Berto for his next fight, around April 9th.

Hey guys, I have a question about live events.
I enjoy watching boxing on HBO, but don't really follow it that close, and have never been to a live fight.
So this weekend the 29th the pontiac silverdome is having The Super Fight Alexander VS Bradley. Its about 45 min from my house and I'm considering going.

tickets are $400-$25
here is a link to the seating chart
seat chart
Red tix are $400, blue are $250, I can get section 110 row 20-something for $55

So here are my questions:
how close do you need to be at a live fight to really enjoy it?
There was a Jan 13th article saying only 339 tickets had been sold (seating is set for 7000). Do these events usually really drop ticket prices day of fight to fill the place?
There's no way I'm paying $250, but I wouldn't mind paying like $80-$100 if I could get something closer.

Thanks.

You should prob get a cheap ticket then sneak as close as you can (since it isn't going to sell out). And yeah, there's a good chance they drop the price/give away tickets nearer the event.

Apparently the Bradley-Alexander fight had only sold around 1,000 tickets as of earlier this week. LOL if true.

I have Bradley going the distance as well.
