Ramos/Santana isn't that bad. Nothing amazing but not a snoozer.

Seanie monoghan v Callum Johnson could be fun for as long as it lasts

Pretty wide decisions for Ramos. Good for him he should make some money off this. Entertaining fighter

Haven’t been scoring but porter Ugas looks very close through 8

Porter usually looks huge v these guys but not v Ugas who is long and big. I think Ugas is gonna win this fight tbh

I thought Porter lost, apparently Porter agrees

Yeah porter didn’t deserve **** there he might win a nonsense decision but that was a Ugas win. Very disappointing after he beat Garcia but Ugas is legitimately good. I’ve said this whole time this PBC division is way overrated none of them should be near top 10 p4p imo including Thurman. I like porter but he lost

Ugas ran away with it at the end. But Porter probably wins. PBC protects their own just like Charlo/Korobov

Yup. Porter gets it.

Way too many close rounds. Easy to give it to Porter and protect the cash cow.

Time to watch Bivol dominate!

Bivol should knock joe smith jr out here I really don’t wanna see a 12 round boxing clinic

Bivol is a remarkable fighter. Smith can barely touch him.

Nobody can question Smith's toughness. Props to him still being up.

He's a journeyman who lost his boxing licence after making abusive comments on a boxer that died in the ring.

He's gone full on troll now

My prefight analysis and betting prediction for Errol Spence vs. Mikey Garcia tonight: https://masterclassboxing.blogspot.c...-prefight.html

Nice analysis don’t disagree with any of it. -175 pretty good price for what I feel is the outcome at least 80% of the time. Lots of promo on lots of channels for this fight (saw ads on tennis channel even)I think it might sell better than people think. Prob gonna see it at movie theater tonight and take advantage of being on the west coast for once in California...main event at 9 local time is nice. Expect lots of Mexicans at the theater tonight but don’t see it ending well for Mikey. Still on the off chance he pulls off this generational type win I don’t wanna miss it. But the lipinets fight makes me think he has almost no chance

I agree. I don't think he has the power to hurt Spence. The last time I remember a fighter jumping up two weight classes to fight a top guy was Kell Brook against GGG. While Brook did okay in the first couple of rounds, the power disparity was obvious and GGG broke his orbital bone, stopping the fight.

I'm pretty confident in Spence winning this by KO, possibly early in the fight since Garcia is a pretty slow starter.

Great stoppage in this fight, Nery is exciting, he carries great power for that weight class.

I don't think Brook GGG or Khan Canelo are apt comparisons to tonight. Both GGG and Canelo are better at their weight classes than either of those two were, and in Canelo's case there was probably a 20-25lb weight advantage vs a historically weak chin (for the top of a division). Mikey will be at a 10-12 lb disadvantage tonight it seems (something like 153 vs 165). Brook was likely closer to GGG (Brook is similar to Spence in size and GGG is just a regular MW it was under 10lbs ring night).

Anyways, the big difference here is that Mikey is at least as good for his weight as Spence is, at least the evidence we have suggests that to this point. Spence was even with Brook through 8, before Brook lost another eye. Peterson is post peak + stood in front of Spence all night, which is a terrible strategy. He hasn't really fought a top 10 opponent outside of those two, and Peterson is marginally top 10 at 147 as it is.

I think Mikey can win if he can get in and out and moves side to side, keeping Spence from being able to plant and fire, I don't think he needs much power to win, he needs to score points, I don't think Spence will walk through superior boxing to win this.

That said, that's not really Mikey's style either, Mikey takes some shots and I think Spence's edge is having excellent power and reach advantages here and the margin for error for Mikey is far narrower. But great fighters can adjust, even good fighters can adjust, and Mikey fighting a more movement oriented performance and executing it to a high level is definitely not unreasonable, I hope we get to see it, too few fighters dare to be great (tbh Khan and Brook did it for the money, Mikey clearly is doing it for fame too, obviously if he wins this he makes a ton more money, but it's not just a cash job like Khan or Brook).

Btw tons of guys have moved up weight classes with success. The name of this thread has two of them in it. I doubt Manny would've gone above 135 if his goal was just to remain undefeated/get the most KOs, and Floyd probably not above 140. Both of those guys have fought above 147 and dominated opponents, even well past their prime ages. Mikey is daring to be great, and while he's no Floyd/Manny, I don't think he's a Brook or Khan either. We'll see which way he falls tonight.

Poor Roach's corner needs to stop this.

Edit: Or just let that body shot do it.
