I'll be damned, Kovalev is going to the body now too, great stuff.

Totally can feel the tension tigers.

Just feels like Alvarez can KO him at any time. But he's still losing every round.

5-1 through 6 I think, although I wouldn't hate 6-0 Kov. Love the work Kov is putting in. Not loving this ref. Too much indecision, if you're going to give instructions to fighters, get inbetween them.

I wonder what a live betting line would look like for this fight going into round 8. 3-1 Kovalev? 2-1?

And Kov begins to fade. Alvarez came on and won his first round.

Alvarez just seems like he doesn't want to let his hands go.

Kov still needs to be careful hopping in like he's doing.

Terrific round by Kov. Perfectly done.

8 looked pretty clear Kovalev to me, he landed a good bit, Alvarez wasn't throwing hardly anything. Got an open handed right in but that's not worth much.

Lol @ Kovalev sitting down until the bell rings. Bad form!

Yep. Most rounds, really. Alvarez needs to put more pressure on him, he's unlikely to just gas on his own. Alvarez is fighting like a puncher's chance opponent.

He should probably get inside of Kovalev, but he did no body work earlier, Kovalev is just cruising and boxing at this point.

Alvarez needs a KO. I have him winning one round.

That jab snapped poor Alvarez's head back

Alvarez breathing deeeeeeep

Alvarez landed some flesh shots there and Kov took them and fired back. Not sure what Alvarez can do at this point.

Alvarez looked a little wobbly after that right towards the end of round 11. The way he's opening up now, I think he'd of been KO'd if he did that consistently earlier.

Alvarez not throwing enough.

If Kov lasts the 12th it's this fight.

119-109 #AndNew

Kov was landing flush leather in the 12th when he didn't even need it. I'm interested in seeing another couple fights from him before he leaves.

If you're generous, Alvarez got 3 rounds

Man, I read about McGirt leading up to this fight and I kinda just assumed bad fit, more Teddy Atlas type blindly gambling with a name/hype, but I was 100% wrong.

Every bit of corner advice I heard sounded logical and easy to digest for the fighter and his fighter actually followed it. I hope he earned himself some extra business tonight.

Lol @ 116-112x2, really?

Hahahahah 116-112 x2 and 120-108. Well, at least one of those is correct

116-112 was VERY generous

Could easily argue for a shutout

Alright good stuff from Kovalev

There are some fire fights to be made now at 175 this division is HOT now

Bivol, Gvodyk, even Gilberto Ramirez or Beterbiev guess would all be big fights for Kovalev now

Shame we never got to see Kovalev Stevenson in their primes tho damn

Garcia's going to get a shot against someone like Munguia. He'll give a good showing, not embarass the promoter, and he's not likely to knock anyone out, so it should be possible to make the fight. Only problems áre he might be hard to outpoint and he doesn't bring a fanbase to the market. Not real technical and doesn't have much power, but he's in extremely good condition, has good feet, and looks to be able to take a shot. His workrate makes for entertainment.

He tore Cheeseman up and didn't look tired doing it. At best Cheeseman got a round. Cheeseman too limited technically, but Hearn will probably get him a future chance to get knocked out by someone good.
