And let's be real here. Prime Tyson knocks out Wilder, possibly in the first round.
Tyson went balls out in life in general till fairly recently. I've watched his sparring and interviews with the guys he sparred with and to quote one of them '' you didn't spar with Tyson, you fought him''. He was Charlie Sheen tier, one speed : Go! I remember reading about how parents were withdrawing their kids from the junior competitions when they were going to face him and the ones who didn't ended up KO'ed in round 1 with lost teeth etc.

Starts at 3:25

When my future kids ask me who the **** Mike Tyson is :

Imagine if every human had his raw talent, drive and work ethic he had in the 80's, we'd be a type 3 civilization by now. Having said that, his biggest feat is probably not being dead by now.

Tyson and Foreman are my all time favorites. What I really love was how different their styles were : one was a 50 cal machine gun and the other would knock your head off while looking like he was barely bothered about fighting you, handing out brain damage without even trying. The Cooney uppercut where he looks like he's just going for a walk in the park is prob my all time favorite.

Not often you hear the UK anthem without a crowd singing it.

Smith made that first round close at the end but Groves controlled most of it with his jab

Question is do you value Groves ring generalship over occasional Smith power shots. I got Groves 2-0 in a close fight.

Groves susceptible to the overhand right just like the Froch fight.

Groves caught once off-balance. Otherwise he's been great. Smith got that power though

4-2 Groves

Bull****. Groves hit while he was down!

Surprised he didn't try to get up though.

Great left hand to start it all off. I kinda of thought that Smith was overrate but he looked pretty good from what I saw.

Although I felt Groves was winning, you could also feel that Smith could knock him out at any time. Groves keeps that left hand so low that he's just asking to get drilled by right hands. It's what cost him against Froch and it's what rocked him several times before the knockout.

Groves would have had to fight an almost perfect fight to win because he didn't have the power to hurt Smith but Smith had the power to hurt him.

I was sort of half watching on one monitor to be honest, but it looked like Smith had that cool aire about him as if he knew he'd catch up with him sooner or later. The BBC feed were saying 4-2 Groves or maybe 3-3 after the first 6.

Smith is huge for a SMW. Groves is small for a SMW. He didn't seem bothered by Groves's power but Groves seemed bothered by Smith's power. Guess he knew that it was a matter of time before he landed the right punch. The fight felt identical to the second Froch fight.

Wow. Scorecards for Smith/Groves were mental

59-55 Smith
59-55 Groves
57-57 Even

Can't find a picture of the physical card. The scores are from BoxRec.

Does having a "regular" championship belt make you a division champion? Or do you have to have a "super" championship belt?

The guy didn't last a round with the real champion. Its absolute nonsense having 2 "champions" under one organisation.

One of the biggest critiques of boxing is the fact that there could already be 4 champions. I refuse to recognise a secondary belt.

Is wbc still using the diamond belt they made for Pacquiao? Or was that wbo?

As do I. I just didn't know what the rest of the boxing community felt.

Canelo basically picked the weakest of the SMW champions to get his feet wet at 168. With the IBF vacant, I wonder if GGG can get a shot at that next. I guess fighting Murata is probably going to be his next fight though.

EDIT: Danny Jacobs is fighting Sergiy whatever-the-hell for the vacant IBF title

I got blocked from Dan Rafael's Twitter...on the 22nd of September.

I didn't notice it until today.

Nice to know how useless he is as a journalist.

Well that is his nickname

I forgot about the WBSS though. Even crazier is that I can't find a feed of it anywhere.

EDIT: It's already over lol. Missed it by about a day.

Beterbiev looked good in his fight. Never seen a career so mismanaged though. I'd love to see him in there with Bivol or Kovalev. I think he's a live dog against both of them but they would still be fights worth watching. He got knocked down and fought through adversity for the win.

Did anyone watch the Ohara Davies fight and if so, what did you think of the scoring? Was it fair?

It was possibly the least aggressive 12 rounder I've ever seen. Most rounds were tight and tough to score, but Catterall shaded most of them imo. Anything from Davies by 2 to Catterall by 8 wouldn't have surprised me, so cards weren't bad (Two by 2 and one by 8, all for Catterall).

Davies corner told him he needed a KO after the 11th. He wasn't fatigued, and still didn't open up. If I had to guess I'd say he threw less than 10 right hands in the whole fight, landed probably 2. He spent the fight with a huge wide stance, leaning backwards, no lateral movement, standing on the other guy's toes as if that were the game, running away, afraid to fight... all that with a 3 inch reach advantage.

Catterall looked around European level but a step above Davies (First time seeing Catterall so maybe he just fights as well as he has to). I've no urge to ever watch either again, and would probably pay money to never watch Davies again.

Beterbiev's first knockdown was an awful call from the ref. He pushed Johnson under the ropes, the ref said no punch, Beterbiev then hits his unprotected opponent and Johnson goes down and the ref just acts like it was a fair knockdown.

In other news, you don't see this too often, refreshing to see in such a brutal sport.
