Surprisingly good scorecards. Honestly very few swing rounds. Jack really can’t blame anyone but himself he didn’t do anything for a long time. Very possible that was the right strategy even! But he didn’t win the 11th when Adonis got second wind and that was the difference. I personally think kovalev beats Stevenson but it would be kind of fascinating because both guys would be gassed after five

For any that watched Selby/Warrington - how much did the cuts factor into the result?

I watched first 8 after only seeing last four and it’s prettu hard to say . Hard to fight when you can’t see straight but he was losing the whole fight . V disappointing if you’re a fan of his . Hopefully we see warrington Frampton next

Jack did almost nothing for the first 6 rounds. He needed to turn it up a bit earlier. If he did, he probably would have won the fight.

Shame that Diaz faded so quickly in the GRJ fight. It looked like it was gonna be interesting early on and then it was all Russell for the rest of the second half.

Bellew smokes Adonis in a rematch. Father time has caught up with Stevenson. I think they fought originally at LH too so if a rematch is at Crusier gonna be a whole lot different

Did Adonis say he'd move up to CW? It'd kind of makes sense since his speed has taken a bit of a tumble. Plus with Gassiev and Usyk probably moving up after the WBSS and Huck a shell of his former self, it leaves a vacuum at CW. Bellew ain't gonna go back down there.

What surprised me about Adonis is how one-dimensional his offense is. Generally, I thought I only saw the one-two because he didn't have to try anything else against his opponents before they were toast. But that's really not the case. You never see him double up a punch. You rarely see him throw hooks to the body. I think there might be an uppercut here and there. I'm actually surprised that nobody has beaten him yet. All a fighter should have to do is stay off the line of the straight left and you avoid a lot of his power.

Inoue/McDonnell (SPOILER)

Spoiler:
McDonnell didn't last 2 minutes

Spoiler:

3-division champ in 16 fights. Lomachenko did it in 12.

However, Inoue is only 25 years old. He's pretty much the GGG of the lower weight divisions.

McDonnell supposedly rehydrated from 117.5 to 144 pounds.

How the hell does somebody drop almost 27 pounds of water weight unless they're using a banned diuretic?

Inoue/Nery is one of the best fights to be made.

Nery's been suspended indefinitely by the WBC.

Who knows when he'll fight again.

-------------

David Lemieux missed weight for his fight against some guy this weekend. Claims he wants to fight at 168.

The guy is 5'9". He'd get destroyed at 168. Should try harder to make weight in the future.

Nery's fighting a stay busy in two weeks back in Mexico.

Hopefully Inoue starts fighting state side again more often as the Japanese are too butthurt to allow Nery fight there after he slapped their #1 twice. Nery has done some POS stuff but the lifetime ban is excessive as ****.

People need to be punished like that when they intentionally miss weight in order to gain an advantage. As of right now, they give up 20 percent of their purse but if they win the fight they make millions more later on down the road. It's not enough of a punishment without a heavy suspension to back it up.

Quigg did the same thing against Valdez. Tacked on an additional 3 pounds to handle Valdez's power while boosting his own. Should have been suspended for that angle shooting.

On top of that, it's incredibly dangerous for the fighter who didn't cheat. There isn't much of a difference between angleshooting the weigh-in and taking PEDs.

If it were one rule for everyone I'd be in favour of it, but too often in sport and especially in Boxing it is one rule for some, a different rule for another. So I do feel a little sorry for him.

The PED thing is a non-issue as far as I am concerned, PED abuse is rife in the sport anyway.

Canelo wants 65-35 of the purse against GGG. Gennady wants 50-50.

I think Golovkin deserves closer to 50-50 but it will be Canelo drawing the PPV buys.

60/40 would be fair, Golovkin must be joking if he thinks he should be getting 50-50. His biggest PPV before Canelo was 400k and that was largely to do with Kell Brook and fighting in the UK. He didn't break 200k buys vs Lemieux or Jacobs.

Surely Canelo has lost a lot of fans this year

Yeah but Canelo could take 3 other fights and not get the numbers he'd get vs GGG. There's a lot of matchup value for the PPV buys.

Anybody watch the fights this past weekend?

Ancajas looks solid but kind of boring. Yafai seems like a great fighter if he can keep himself from trading while Carmona looks like a guy who would be fun to watch in almost any fight.

A legit up and comer in the featherweight division out of Mongolia.

Could be the first Mongolian boxing champion.

Let's see if Crawford's power carries to 147.

Honestly, I think his fight with Horn is going to resemble the one with John Molina Jr. Crawford just beats the crap out of him until either the ref or Horn's corner stops it.

Horn is a complete dud, and Bud should win every round, however I suspect Horn is one of those really thick skulled dumb guys so he can probably last 12 rounds and claim he won again.
