Callum Smith now fighting some guy I never heard of named Nieky Holzken. Braehmer dropped out due to an infection.

Smith has fought two nobodies on his way to the finals. Not sure he'd be the favorite over Groves. Groves looked great against Eubank.

He showed flaws against Skoglund. I'm picking Groves

It has to be a concern for Smith that he has never been in with anyone close to Groves's level.

Chino looks to be enjoying retirement. Good for him.

I thought a couple of years ago that Smith would eventually clean out the division.

Since then, Ramirez has stepped up and I hear Smith has been less than impressive lately (I missed his last 2 fights). I reckon he still has it in him.

I'd love to see GGG step up to SMW and wreck that division.

That channel is pretty bad imo. A decent way of organizing clips and music is usually decent but his analysis and knowledge of the sport is pretty bad.

Couldn't watch it since I was working on an assignment for grad school.

Saw the replays just now. SSR is legit. Estrada came close though. If he came on just a bit earlier he might have eeked it out.

Was surprised to see Cuadras lose. Figured he'd be next up in a rematch against SSR. Unfortunately, Arroyo is going to be the man there.

Callum Smith was pretty underwhelming. Seemed like Smith treated it like a sparring session. Crazy punch output but his replacement opponent was pretty much a joke. I think Groves beat Smith by decision.

A reminder of how brutal this sport is.

I saw the super fly card too. I came to this thread and nobody posted anything
I didnt see a clear winner in SSR vs Estrada, the commentators were ridicoulusly biased towards Estrada like every fight involving a latin fighter vs non latin fighter.

Is anybody gonna go to that show in Glasgow? We've had 2-3 days of almost non-stop snow here. Unis have been closed for the last 3 days.

I'm actually most excited about Bivol/Barrera. I think Bivol is legit good. He's got GGG type of power for LHW. I'm pretty sure he can beat Kovalev when they eventually fight.

Does anyone fancy Ortiz tomorrow? I'd love to see that WBC belt no longer held hostage.

I certainly don't (in an "it's somewhere near even" type way). He must have a chance, but when I've seen him I've not been impressed. Still, assuming he doesn't suddenly look old in the ring he is durable and may cause some issues.

I seem to recall being amazed at how close they were in the betting, but now Wilder is a pretty warm favourite. Looks like the market has moved to him a fair bit recently (either that or my memory has gone to pot).

Edit - I should add that, for some reason, Wilder scares the hell out of me so I may not be objective. All the big guys should be scary, but there is something about him that just makes it hard for me to see him losing.

This.

But Wilder Ortiz could be awesome too

Wow Wilder's weighed in his lightest since 2009.

Guess Wilder is gonna do his best Ali impression instead of merely throwing bombs in one place. Last time he was below 215 pounds was in his third pro fight.

Think you guys are underestimating Ortiz's power and technique while not taking Wilder's mostly untested chin into account. Wilder got shook by Eric Molina of all people. Wilder also hasn't shown much more than a one-two throughout his entire career. He's going to need more than that against Ortiz.

Ortiz might be old but he doesn't have a lot of wear on his tires as a pro (not sure about his amateur record). He's also going to have 27+ pounds on Wilder. So he might go down quite as easily as Wilder's other opponents.
