watching the cotto-ali fight right now and unfortunately cotto just looks washed as opposed to ali being particularly impressive IMO. i was kind of hoping at least ali would look really good so he might become a player but i kind of doubt it at 154. ali fought smart but nothing special. i'm super biased but not sure ali even wins the fight if cotto doesn't tear his bicep. cotto is definitely done and i'm pretty sure he will hang them up for good unlike most boxers who retire. i guess i would watch a stupid washed match between him and JMM but i think a guy like khan would even embarrass him at this point

as valid as it is to point out that cotto basically lost every big fight he was in besides mosley, i still think he had a great career for a guy who doesn't really seem to have any particularly world class physical gifts whatsoever. hope he enjoys retirement like my other favorite guy maidana

Seeing Cotto get Chino-sized would be pretty great. He's earned the right.

So if Loma embarrasses Rigo, he has to be p4p #1 right? Would you really need to see more?

Ok, let me rephrase. I already believe Loma is #1 p4p, my question is will him crushing in this fight make it unquestionable to pretty much everyone, regardless of the past resume arguments? At what point will it not even be a real discussion? I know there will always be outliers of people that don't agree, but what does it take for him to be widely recognized as #1 p4p? Is it if he wins against Rigo? Or would it take more, like a Garcia win before everyone is generally on board?

If he KOs Rigo, then he'll be an almost unanimous #1 p4p

FTR, I think he will do that.

Rigo is probably too old and too small tbh .. great match up though.

What most people probably think is that Loma is the best p4p boxer in the world right now but he needs to have more fights to prove it, if that makes sense.

Beat Rigo convincingly and it's hard to argue against Loma being #1 (Crawford and GGG being the only real contenders after Ward retired), but he lost a little in my eyes by not going down to 128lb (which he could easily) to take this fight. Rigo has a reach advantage but he can't put on the weight.

If Rigo wins, he might as well retire, it's hard enough to get someone in the ring with him as it is.

Regardless of the outcome of this fight, Loma is building up to a massive fight with Garcia anyway imo.

Out of interest, if its a draw would you think Rigo is p4p #1?
Spoiler:
I would

I know we've said it before, but this has Duran/Hearns written all over it.

RIP Rigo, go out on your shield

Loma weighs in at 129 lbs, Rigo at a massive 128.4 lbs... I've no idea why this is at 130 lbs

Rigo to win! You can't hit what you can't see

This fight is so dumb lol how is Ortiz even allowed to fight

Next weeks fs1 has some surprisingly decent c level fights with all guys I have actually heard of albeit many of them pretty washed. Main event blows tho

Would love to see wilder Ortiz but kind of cringe at Ortiz calling wilder out there it’s like mother****er you had the fight and you cheated again your embarrassing. I Think Ortiz beats wilder more often than not tho

I honestly think wilder wants to fight Ortiz tho which is crazy to me that he seems so hesitant to fight ****in Dillian whyte and make 4 mil and have stepping stone to Joshua when he won’t make that money v Ortiz and it’s a much tougher fight imo. Hope it happens
