I feel ****ing gross. I've worn gloves and had my legs punched out from under me, I knew they should've stopped it, but when that bell rang, my first thought was "God damn, what heart".

Congrats to spence for beating a guy two weight classes smaller I guess

It was very hard for me to imagine a route to a Garcia victory given he is much smaller much shorter much slower but I’m mad at myself for even thinking there was any chance whatsoever I don’t even know what it would have looked like considering he is behind on every single physical attribute by a large margin

Corner should have stopped it. There is no moral victory in unnecessarily getting your brains bashed in.

Garcia was brave to take the fight and brave to go the distance but some fighters can be too brave and that's where a good corner has to make the decision.

I didn't think he was much slower going into the fight. But Floyd has made a career out of this kind of stuff. Floyd Canelo is an example of what it looks like when a much younger and larger and faster opponent tries to outbox someone with superior defensive, timing and boxing skills. I pictured a Mikey victory would look something more like that, just Spence throwing and missing while Mikey pot shotted and frustrated him all night. Not the case obviously.

In other news, Fury has his next opponent, check out this badass highlight reel! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8DxW87DHSU

Warning: May contain a large amount of open fisted punching and back of the head shots.

Dude has faced only one top 100 heavyweight (Ivica Bacurin, 66th). Ivica has been knocked out by anybody who's anybody in HW boxing (Joyce, Takam, Whyte, Bellew) and beaten by Kudryashov and Gassiev at CW.

So this is a real joke of a fight. Hell even Wilder is going to fight a better opponent in Breazale. FFS, Joshua fighting Miller is a tougher match.

Somebody made a comparison of the HW top 10:

****ing. Fight. Each. Other

Props to Wilder for being willing to take on a guy like Ortiz when he could have made the same amount fighting a less risky opponent. He was willing to fight Povetkin in Russia until Povetkin got popped for PEDs.

Sucks that he's ducking Fury though. Dude knows he should have lost that zero in his loss column. Wants to retire an undefeated heavyweight champion.

I re-watched the Fury Wilder fight as though I was rooting for Wilder, and I got busy so I actually watched rounds 1-6 and 7-12 separately. if you thought Fury was slapping and doing no damage, and you credit "activity", you could've found 2 Wilder rounds in the first 6. and if you cheat and look at stats, Fury only landed one more punch per round overall for the fight.

if you just watch 7-12 you'd think Wilder won.

A draw didn't seem nearly as ridiculous.

Lipinets-Lamont Peterson card starting on FS1 in America I think Peterson’s brother v Argenis Mendez is only other fight left before main. Not world beaters but solid b level guys and really big fight for both of them in order to keep being opponents for all the PBC stars in that division which has very well paid B sides. Think it will be a pretty entertaining fight odds are right at 50/50...I guess I’m maybe leaning Lipinets but I would be surprised if either won a clear fight. I’ll take the younger guy tho. I’ve never ever liked Lamont as much as most (and thought khan beat him more clear than most people) but he’s tough I’m just over seeing him as the opponent v whoever

Peterson looking better I don’t think Lipinets has he power to keep him off him he’s not very big at 147 (neither is Peterson tho)

Competitive rounds so far tho pretty entertaining

Wow crazy finish Linipets KO 10. He hurt Peterson in the 7th or 8th pretty bad then knocked him down end of tenth and Peterson’s corner threw in towel in a fight that was prob close to even. Prob the end of Lamont as a serious B side here. Lipinets earned that win. Grueling fight ! Would like to see Lipinets back down at 140 tbh but I realize not a lot of options for him. I thought he was def on his way to losing a close decision in DC until that knockout

Only caught the last 2 rounds fully. Peterson gonna Peterson, just stands in there with you trading. Doesn't work as well with powerful guys that can just load up.

Sounded like a fun fight though based on scoring/punches. But when I tuned in it was a non defensive slugfest at that point, even if Peterson looked slightly better on the boxing side of things.

Peterson would have been pretty hurt last couple rounds but he was winning the more clear rounds before that with some pretty brutal body work . Very crude but I don’t think Lipinets fights much different than Peterson only he’s even shorter and doesn’t keep his guard up as much. Takes a damn good shot tho. Hard for me to see him beating any of the top dogs at 147 but I was pretty surprised at the knockout that just happened I didn’t think he had the power to do that to Peterson

Peterson retired post fight I hope he stays retired but always doubtful. Guys story from foster care and homelessness is great and he has always been humble and seemingly a great dude. Take the money and run man.

Cheap shot to slap him knowing Artem couldn't reach him from there.

This is the best use of a slap that I have seen since that Simpson's episode where Homer starts challenging everyone to a duel by slapping them with a glove.

Loma fighting Crolla tonight. Anybody watching?

Undercard has Zurdo's first fight in LHW, fighting some gatekeeper who has lost to every notable fighter aside from a past-his-prime Chad Dawson.

Mike Alvarado is being used to put over some undefeated 20-something with zero power.

Kind of sad that the Alvarado one will be the closest and potentially most entertaining fight on that card.

It was really sad watching Alvarado looking like that. I mean Barboza was supposed to be a guy with zero power and he KOed his ass in the 3rd.

Alvarado has to have some pride, right? It's almost shameful at this point.
