Pedraza def holding his own. As good as Loma is I’ll hand in my hardcore fan card and admit he’s been in a lot of rounds that are very boring for me. This fight not doing much for me so far but not the one sided beat down a lot of people thought it would be so that’s interesting enough I guess. Rather watch the ufc main event tho lol

Something up with Loma. He ain't letting his hands go like he normally does.

Pedraza took those last two rounds.

Loma looks a lot smaller than Pedraza in there to me. Maybe he’s just not big enough to really be that legend at this weight. Wish him and Garcia could fight. Oh well. Not impressive stuff here at all

If you have Pedraza up here, I don't think you're necessarily wrong.

I got it 5-3 Loma though.

I had the same, 6-4 now. No idea how you legitimately score half these rounds.

Look at lomas face he got hit plenty tonight. I didn’t really score it and that 11th round was freaking amazing skill from Loma but most of the fignt was lackluster for me

I don’t think judges gave Pedraza enough credit but like I said earlier in the fignt we all knew that would be the case . Not gonna lie I really don’t care about Loma vs anyone besides Mikey or honestly Teofimo within the next 18 months or so hopefully. I’m all in on that kid I think he is going to be an absolute star f

That's why Teofimo won't be fighting Loma any time soon. He's only 21. Maybe as a passing of the guard rite when Loma nears the end of his career though.

I think you’re probably right. ESPN top rank has a lot invested in Loma...he has headlined a few main ESPN cards now and I’m pretty sure they basically made him learn English to be marketable I could be wrong but I don’t remember him speaking near that well until tonight. I’m drinking the kool aid on Lopez I could be an idiot like some had with Felix Verdejo a few years ago but I love
That kid. Objectively he hasn’t even beaten a decent B level gatekeeper yet but I think he stops guys like Beltran right now. We will see I’m a moron so who knows. He’s young so why even stay at 135 he might be able to get up to a glory division like 147 in the next 12 months I have no idea

I forgot that tank Davis is at 135 that would be an exceptional fight v Loma but tank really needs to go all in on being a heel to sell that fight. I would love that fight though. All that being said it would not surprise me if Loma really neutralizes him and kind of stinks out the joint to win while frustrating Davis over and over. I might have graded on a curve too much with Loma last night but idk he was a 40-1 favorite I expect a bit more

Joe focuses too much on appeasing the people he's interviewing. I'd like to see him push back and call Wilder out rather than buy into that long count bull**** that he is trying to sell people on to soothe the hit to his ego.

He talks like somebody who knows he got lucky. His tone would be very different if he genuinely felt that he won the fight.

Personally, I think Fury is way more interesting and likable than Wilder. Not that Wilder is a bad guy but I think he's up his own ass too often. He also butchers the English language. There are times where he is almost Trumpian in his lack of coherence.

To be fair to joe, he does say it's not Fury's fault as all that matters to him is what the refs count is. Which Wilder agrees with. Seems like its all half BS as promo for next fight anyway. I've read others critique the way Wilder talks, he's an uneducated boxer from Alabama, would be strange to me if was articulate as British guy. Strange criticism for a boxer anyhow.

That said I agree Fury is more likable, but boring af as a boxer, at least to a noobie fan like me.

The interviewer problem is always access. There's probably a perfect ratio of pushback:appeasement but when in doubt, most interviewers are going to err on the side of continuing to get access to athletes and not pissing them off by calling them out.

What Happened

Wilder: I was doing great things that the commentators didn't point out.
Joe: *nods*

What Should Have Happened

Wilder: I was doing great things that the commentators didn't point out.
Joe: Tell me about a time that you did something great that the commentators didn't point out. I wonder if I missed something because of the commentary.

Another way is to not critique the person yourself, but merely relay valid points that other people made. That way you aren't making the accusation. You're only saying what others have said.

Agreed SUB, it can take 2/3 of the same interviewee to get it. And some never do get comfortable because "Image" to much to lose.
I think the honest opinion from me is that D.Wilder does not have real people he can trust and Fury does.
And in this sport that is massive.

Another issue with JRE is that he has too many shows. Effectively preparing for a 3 hour interview with a different person every weekday is extremely difficult. I mean to do a good interview, you really need to research your guests in advance and there's no way Joe has the time to do that.
