She should consider herself lucky that she wasn't taken into the car and held as a slave for a few years.

So are we just gonna ignore that it looks like we're getting Manny/Floyd II?

It's going to be the same fight if not worse, but I'm finding it hard to believe this is a big joke with all this smoke.

Decent chance Floyd can KO Pac this time. I will obviously watch it but i would never purchase it.

They're trying to see if there's enough interest in having them fight again.

Figure if they throw out enough smoke and hype that a market will be created. If people keep ****ting all over the idea, then hopefully they'll get the hint and realize that it won't make enough money for Floyd to come back.

I wonder if Floyd saw that minimumweight Thai guy go 51-0 and wants to keep up with him.

If they fight again, the match will be exactly the same as the first. Floyd's hands are too brittle to knock someone down and Manny's not the type of guy who'll give up in his corner.

Solid take from Lampley here.

The money shot:
Quote:
By an overwhelming majority, fans and general media have decided Gennady Golovkin won both fights. They don’t need to confuse themselves with Compubox numbers and round by round scoring and technical analysis. Via the metric of social media, and among themselves on the street, they have spoken loudly again. They like the way Triple G competes. They love the passion his face projects. They are enthralled with his heart.

When Muhammad Ali was judged the loser in his first fight with Joe Frazier, and lost his unbeaten record as a result, many in my generation were crestfallen. But then we learned something, as Ali’s aura only grew bigger, and Frazier had to deal with the reality that the numbers on the scorecard did nothing to diminish the love the audience felt for their hero.

Now Triple G is something of a latter day Ali, a global superstar seen as having been twice martyred by the hidebound and impenetrable processes of a sport that can’t get out of its own way. Canelo’s victory, however satisfying at first, will ultimately do little to increase the size or passion of his audience, built in from the start as the result of his favorable cultural perch, as the face of Mexican boxing. But the two decisions which have frustrated Gennady Golovkin have dramatically multiplied the size of Triple G nation, which is now a global cult. You don’t have to win to be the winner. That’s boxing. That’s life.
Obviously they're at different points in their careers. Ali was 29 and in his prime when he lost to Frazier and GGG is 36 now and winding his career down. Of course their social impact, or even relative popularity aren't what he's comparing, but I like the idea that the "boxing public" sort of crowns its own champion, and no amount of Ross' or Byrds or Oscars will change that.

Povetkin weighed in at 222 lbs for the AJ/Povetkin fight. He will be AJ's 2nd lightest opponent. Only Hrvoje Kisicek was lighter at 219 1/2 pounds.

Povetkin has:
-A 7 inch reach disadvantage
-A 4 inch height disadvantage
-A 25 3/4 pound weight disadvantage

That said, Povetkin has knocked out bigger fighters (Price, Wach were both taller and heavier than AJ at their weigh-in). But they weren't close to the caliber of fighter AJ is. So we'll see what happens.

David Price is fighting on the undercard for this fight. But instead of this fight being some kind of stepping stone into prominence, he is now a B-side for putting over prospects.

Price has that power but blows way too quickly. He has learned to clinch though.

Losing after 3 rounds. Kuzmin got a solid chin.

Torn bicep can hurt like a ***** but you gotta fight through that if you want to be more than a journeyman.

Price blew all his energy and couldn't finish him. He could have gone on if he had the will.

This is a horrible fight. Okolie can't be a serious prospect fighting like this.

Foreign box that is showing AJ rightly couldn't gaf about the undercard and is showing a random domestic bout from somewhere in Poland, where one guy has a sponsor painted on his chest and back lol
