Chisora is a great character, he's fun to watch and he has huge balls. The Klits deserved the slap and the spit for messing him around for 18 months.
don't neglect them when you're working his shaft

srsly how can you like Chisora, and how can you compare him to Tyson in any way, it's just absurd.

He has huge balls and a great chin. Not sure he'd have done so well against a 33 year old Vitali though tbh, but at least he gave it his best shot. Him vs Haye would be an interesting fight for sure.

So you just like crazy people? Cool, go to a mental hospital.

The only thing awesome about Tyson being insane is that he could use it to destroy the best guys in the world, at a time where heavyweight boxing was serious business. Chisora hung in with a 40yr old guy who wouldn't last a round with any of the old guard.

He also has that ridiculous London-Jamaican made up accent which is laughable. He's a parody of Tyson.

I haven't seen it but it sounds like boxing is turning into the WWF (not the one that saves pandas).

hardly.

chisora didn't earn a shot to begin with, and Wlad withdrew due to injury. He then get's another shot even though hes lost 2/3 albeit getting a shady decision in one of the fights.
I'm happy he did what he did, but nope sorry the Klitschkos have given him more than he deserves.

It's also about the circumstances. If Floyd did this he would be crucified in this thread. Probably for good reasons. But what Chisora did was in the end very needed for this very very stale heavyweight division. Therefore I'm all for it.

OK, clearly we have different opinions on this. I guess you want everyone to behave like Wladimir Klitschko outside the ring? Yeah that would be fun.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the old guard" but I would love to see the list of fighters that you think would KO Vitali in a round. Maybe you're getting the Klitschko brothers the wrong way round?

I would love it if Mayweather did stuff like that.

No, I want people to earn their egos and be able to back it up.

Wlad is cool though.

My problem with Mayweather is that he is very boring. He talks in cliches and his money gimmick is very worn out at this point (unless of course for these wannabe gangsters who adore him).

I'm not sure why you use Bobby Pacquiao as an example lol. But yeah that would be cool.

I agree Wlad does seem like a cool guy, but if everyone was like him then the sport would be a lot poorer.

I think 50 cent was a golden gloves champion and Buboy just looks like a fat pig so I have to go for 50cent. What does Buboy even do? It looks like he has the easiest job in the world.

I've seen some ****ed up things on the internets but that 50cent photo really shocked me first time I saw it.

Yeah, but you can always watch the WWE where there's plenty of interesting characters.

Gotta give Chisora credit. People know who he is now.

I think I stopped watching it when I was 15 because I no longer found the characters interesting.

The Last Great Fight is a fantastic book about the Douglas-Tyson fight, including before/after. Loved it and highly rec it to everyone in this thread.

I have heard of that, I'll have to check it out sometime. I always thought the title was a little strange.

On the subject of book recommendations, Dark Trade by Donald McRae is easily my favourite boxing book.

Also it was pretty cool that Martinez guaranteed KO of the year and fighter of the year with one swing of the arm.

I remember watching it and jumping out of my seat and just saying "wow". I'm guessing any one else watching it for the first time also had a similar reaction.
Sorry who were the fighters being talked about here and when was this fight?

The re-match between Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez. It happened in November 2010.
