Yeah. I've been reading eastsideboxing, but it says my email has been banned when I try to register. I don't know why. I never registered or posted on there before.

Weird.

I would try boxingscene though. The history section is really good, and the "general population" is about as bad as everywhere else.

Be prepared to get annoyed no matter where you go and try to not turn into a ****** just because everyone else is. Happened to myself.

WBA orders re-match between Khan/Peterson.

Likely to happen or will Peterson relinquish his belts?

If Peterson can't get Pacquiao (which would be lol if he did) his best fight is with Khan. Best as in $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

It's shows how out of touch with boxing the British media is when they make such a big issue about the sanctioning bodies ordering a rematch.

Er, no it shows that Amir Khan is a big star in Britain and will be getting a rematch for two belts.

A lot of BS in this thread from people who've probably never stepped in the ring. Finally the truth regarding Mayweather-Pac has started to emerge and ppl are still lodged up Pac's rectum.

The stumbling blocks for the FLoyd fight have always been Arum and Pac. I just read an annoying interview with that little shaking idiot, overrated moron Freddie Roach, and he had the gall to say "we've been chasing this guy for two years"...like hell they have. Fanny Faguiao has been overrated by know nothing boxing "fans" for years...it's like people thinking Hellmuth was the best poker player. So annoying.

Either way, Floyd's put it down on the table...and it's Manny's ball now.

Classy berating a man for having parkinson.

I agree with some of what you write, people have a hard time calling Pac out on his bull****. But calm down yo.

They are acting like it is 25 years ago when being a world champion actually made a big difference. At this point in his career it doesn't matter too much whether Khan is a champion or not. Even if the rematch with Peterson doesn't happen he could pretty easily pick up a cheap "world title" in his next fight anyway.

For Peterson not much has changed. He was probably going to fight a rematch anyway as it's his biggest money option unless he was offered a fight with Pacquiao/Mayweather. If he is offered that fight he would simply drop his belts.

world titles are worth something if you don't have a name. As a marketing tool.

If you have a name it's mostly for vanity. Or pride, but how could one be proud to be a "champ" nowadays? It doesn't mean what it used to.
Not to mention the ridiculous fees you have to pay.

the champ has to pay fees to be the champ?

wtf.

Yes, it's a percentage of the purse or something. That's why the WBC have started awarding "diamond" and "silver" belts for non-title fights that are big fights nonetheless.

Yeah it's called sanctioning fees.

It's beyond absurd.

i have no idea how it works and never gave it a thought until just now. honestly i'm surprised they pay fees, thought obviously fighters would have to do some promo work for them or whatever but lol at paying to be champ.

--

someone posted earlier about Arum saying he would cover Pac's half and Floyd would need to get his own half covered.

i thought TV/PPV/fight site cover everything.

can someone explain this please?

Not sure what you mean marty. A guarantee is just "you will get at least this amount no matter if the fight makes money or not".

Basically the one that guarantees (promoter, whoever) is responsible to go out of pocket if need be.

It wont matter at all here, as Floyd will have no problem getting a guarantee, not to mention hes basically promoting himself. He gets a revenue on everything from t-shirt sales to the hotdog stance to ppv-money.

It's more or less a way to dupe media and fans to think there's a legit obstacle when there's not.

I've read that Mayweather's guarantee will come from Golden Boy, just like it has in his last five fights.

I'm not really an expert on this issue so it's hard to tell to what degree Mayweather promotes himself or if he is just a Golden Boy fighter.

The guarantee means nothing unless he's promised $100 million or something absurd. This fight is going to make so much money that he'll easily clear any promised money.

Has it come from GBP the past fight NoJacket? I thought it hadn't due to him not signing a promotional contract with them.

Oh, he promotes himself alright. Hes not a GBP fighter. He more or less lease them to do some PR and help with the promotional licensing.

heres an article on it http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/17/sp...t.html?_r=2&hp
