Thought Marquis won the fight easily (3 rounds) untill I found out he was a 9-1 dog.

This has been a wonderful night for PBF. After that I dont think he even needs to fight Pac.

Marquez: I was robbed, again. I don't know what more I can do to win. This keeps happening. I don't know why.

@stevemaxboxing: Funny, but 2 of the 3 judges had MP winning the 12th. the 1 who had MP winning by 4(Trowbridge) had him losing it. Hmmmm

More from Marquez: We won with cleaner punches. it was a second robbery. of the two, this was the worse.

Nacho beristain: This was a robbery of the utmost.

After that, Floyd is probably sending a contract to Bob Arum was we speak.

Feel pretty bad for Marquez. He is a great fighter. And so is Pac. Marquez has had the perfect style to fight Manny, good range control and accurate counter punching, smart and focused, and should be 2-1 against him life time. I really expected Manny to win this easily...but instead saw Marquez put on a master class and pull it out. Deserve it. And then got jobbed.

Not knowing the odds untill round 9 was a victory for me. I would have put a nice chunk on Marquis. I thought he won the second fight as well.

So this guy Trowbridge has Manny winning 8 of the first 11 rounds?

I don't feel Marquez got robbed. It was a close fight, could have gone either way. But Marquez blew it by playing conservative in the last two rounds. If he wins those rounds, he wins the fight.

judges for the Pac - Mosley fight were identical to this one.

that seems silly. giving one fighter the same judges seems like asking for trouble..

Only Dave Moretti and Glenn Trowbridge, Robert Hoyle (draw) wasn't there for the Mosley-pac

This result and Arum's comments don't match up at all. If you want to have Pac v. JMM 4 and "break all television records" then you want a draw here, not an incorrect SD that makes everyone say "who cares who wins, they're just gonna give 4 to Manny. I'll pass".

This result only makes sense if you want PBF next.

Solid fight. Close fight. 12th round left me very unsatisfied as a boxing fan. I wanted to see one, or both, really just go for it. And to my surprise, neither did much (during the fight I thought the 12th round would be epic). Everyone is talking about how Marquez didn't throw, well...neither did Manny! What did he do so spectacular in the 12th? Land a jab or two? One thing that I will say against Marquez though is that you have to take the title from the champ, you can't expect it to be handed to you in a close fight..

I dont get the 'gotta take it from the champ' thing. I mean its basically code for 'you gotta win this fight by 3 rounds because we're giving the champ a 2 rd headstart'.

stop with that ******ed nonsense. There is no such thing as "you need to take it from the champ". He did. He won based on standard scoring criterias. That is all that is needed.

jmm didn't do much in the 12th (tho that piece of **** 116-112 throwbridge awarded him the 12th) but neither did manny. Difference is marquez corner was certain he had already won, and there was chaos in mannys corner.

webb, you're right. JMM had to convincingly win, and I don't think he did that. It was another "up in the air" fight, and the champion and aggressor is going to get the decision 9 times out of 10.

I do think that people are slightly overestimating how well Marquez did because most people thought that he had no chance and Pac was going to KO easily.

no its just silly ******ed nonsense that means nothing. its just some cliche that people like to burp when people get shafted.

funny.. marquez was the defending champ in their two previous fights. Where was this logic then?

There's a bunch of this as well as "Manny=god" going on. Compubox had this fight scored stupidly even. ~30% landed for Manny (higher volume by a decent amount) and ~31% for JMM. 117-100 edge for Manny on power shots.

The aggressor won. Like it or not, that's just how boxing is scored nowadays.
