There was miscommunication and that's the ref's fault.

****ty situation for Ortiz, he was holding his own.. but that was a blatant and terrible headbutt.

i don't remember, but if this is true, and he actually didn't start the fight after the break, theres an argument for a NC. If he did start it, theres not obviously.

I saw a hand gesture by Cortez but there was no command to box. this fight is a NC. Mayweather gets to duck Pac for 3/4 year while these two prep to fight again, probably in January

1. The round hadn't even started.

2. The ref never told the fighters to fight or begin the round.

3. The ref was clearly not looking.

He did NOT re-start the fight. He gave a warning to Ortiz for the headbutt (quite frankly should have been a point deduction), then turned away to check the clock and that Mayweather sucker punched him twice.

Should be a no contest and the purses of both fighters and the referee should be withheld.

I think theres gonna be a rematch, but i doubt this get declared a nc. I think It's pretty clear from the clip that Cortez made the motion to start the fight.
