Cool fight, like it a lot better than Khans alternatives.(guerrero etc)

Zab is not the fighter we once though he could be, but hes still kind of fast and packs a great punch. Combine that with Khans bambi on ice impersonation and we got a potentially thrilling fight.

I do favor Amir by a large margin tho.

One of the worst fights I have ever seen.

I guess it's that time again when Floyd Mayweather has run out of money and needs a fight.

I actually think Pac-Marquez will be a lot more competitive than May-Ortiz. Ortiz is a good opponent but let's not get carried away he lost to Marcos ****ing Maidana. It's lucky for Ortiz that he's fighting Mayweather instead of Pacquiao considering the scary amount of punches he takes.

But who knows? Mayweather is in his mid-30s and by fight night he will have been inactive for well over a year, he will lose at some point so maybe this will be the night?

Has it been announced anywhere else? It's almost like they were in negotiations and Floyd got impatient and decided to tell everyone that it was on.

Genaro Hernandez died today, one of Mayweather's best wins was against him.

Victor Ortiz said it himself in the middle of May in an interview, and his friend or business partner also said it on twitter around that time. Then they said oops and kinda played it off neither confirming or denying, so yeah theres been threads about this fight being "official" on boxing forums for a few weeks. 100 percent confirmed today though.

Victor Ortiz isn't going to beat Mayweather, no chance. I do give Victor a better chance of beating Pac tho, Victor's size is incredibly underrated I've thought for a while he was too weight drained fighting at 140. Pac is hittable, and Ortiz has always showed good power with both fists, including in his lol quittage vs Maidana.

Its just much more exciting as a boxing fan to see a great boxer like Mayweather vs someone new and exciting, as opposed to guys who have no business being in the ring with them to begin with and only take the fight cuz of the paycheck. I hope you're right about JMM vs Pac being competitive, as I think its a little too late for JMM and Pac has actually packed on enough real weight where he getting closer to being a true welterweight. JMM as u probably know doesn't belong at anything above Lightweight, and even there is smaller than other 135's. Agree with Kingofcool tho, boxing is nowhere near dead and the fights in the 2nd half of this year are fantastic. /tl;dr

Yeah, Mayweather at his best destroys Ortiz but all fighters decline at some point. I thought Mayweather would wait until his ridiculously long list of legal problems had gone away before entering the ring again.

Meh, if May stays out of the ring too long, he'll hit another woman. Better to get him back in the ring.

Can't help but feel, again, like it was a smokescreen to evade the dodging Pac talk.

Considering how bad it was made out to be, I was a bit surprised to hear he'd be fighting this September. Whatever, I give up at this point.

Regarding future opponents for Canelo...
Golden Boy just signed Luis Collazo. Not a bad name.

apparently tonights haye-klitschko face off on HBO was something awesome. I'll watch and let you know if certain twitter accounts saying that are correct

It was really intense. I think i preferred the Hopkins/Pascal one but this was still vvv good.

Haye is so annoying. He just spams words and fail to ever deliver something remotely clever. Not that Klitschko is that funny/clever either, but hes known for his boxing, not his trashtalk. Will for sure be rooting for Wladimir.
Didn't like that Wlad extended his hand at the end.

So ****ing pumped for this. More so than any other fight scheduled.

Haye needs to win for the good of boxing. Wladimir is such a weird guy, they are both talking a lot of rubbish but it seems very forced when it comes out of Wlad's mouth.

It could well be his toughest test yet. Rhodes it certainly better than Matthew Hatton.

Apparently the face-off on hbo was recorded several weeks ago.

I'm currently watching the sky special that is more current. An hour long 'ringside' show on Haye vs. Klitschko.

Wlad seems much more relaxed in this one, and Haye way more agitated.

Who you all rooting for?

Yeah saw this a while ago. Not sure if I would call that "shake the magic hand" nonsense "relaxed", Wlad seemed to be a bit crazy in this one. I loved the bit where they were briefly talking about Sacha Baron Cohen and it seemed like they were just 2 mates having a laugh.

thought it was a stark contrast from the face-off video. Wladimir being a lot more cheerful and talkative. I think hes doing a very good job considering It's like his 6th language or something.

I read Haye said Wladimir wasn't affected by his antics. Maybe thats why hes not acting like such a clown as in the face-off on hbo?

I can't help but feel that a lot of the tension is just an act, I mean they must have spent a lot of time together behind closed doors during negotiations over the last couple of years.

On the other hand, the fight means so much to both of them in terms of legacy that tension and nervousness is inevitable on both sides.

I can't believe that it's only two weeks away. There's nothing like a big fight where you have no idea how long it will last. Most big fights are odds-on to go the distance, not the case here.
