I snap called because it seemed incongruous that someone who wouldn't cover up and box super defensively could last that long. Do I have a good side or am I a fish in this bet?
Solid bet imo. Margarito's propensity to fight will be his downfall. When he opens up Pac's speed will kill him. Cheto lasts longer than 5 only if he goes into a shell like Clottey did once he got a taste of Manny's speed AND power.

Haha, well we'll see. I don't usually like betting on things I know almost nothing about but I guess it seems like a fair line.

This is ludicrous on so many levels.

I've wanted Margarito to be severely injured for awhile already, though.

He's playing the villain to get a payday. But, unlike many that act it, he is villainous in real life.

I think Pac annihilates him, Ricky Hatton style.

I'd rather see an Oscar De La Hoya type of annihilation. That pic of Oscar sitting in his corner with that defeated look on his face is priceless. I don't want it over quick, a nice slow beating with garcia refusing to throw in the towel and Pac encouraging Margo to get up each time he knocks him down.

Any word on who the ref is? If it is Lawrence Cole we wont see a quick stoppage.

man what was that fight that happened within the last 2 years where the ref made the guy keep fighting. it's somewhere back in this thread.

not sure, but just the opposite was when Lawrence Cole urged Juan Manuel Marquez not to fight when he got cut in the 8th round because he was winning on points. That happened in a fight down in Hidalgo Tx on HBO a few years back.

I think he got a small suspension at the time. His dad used to be the head of the Texas Boxing and Licensing Commision.

And I found out Cole will be the Referee for teh Pac-Margarito fight

Too rephrase, I don't think Pac can knock him out within 6 rounds. It's possible Pac TKO's him by completely embarrassing him ala De La Hoya.

What is the consesus here on James Kirkland? Anyone think he can get past his knuckleheaded ways? He has a ton of talent and it would be a shame to see it wasted. It looks like him and his trainer are done though as she is not going to forgive him.

Pac weighed in at 144.6 pounds. Seems kind of light to me for a super-welter match against Margarito whose going to be 160-165 pounds at fight night.

Yeha I was suprised by Pac coming in that light. But Margo might be a little drained from having to get down to 150. It will be interesting to see how much he puts back on tonight and tomorrow. I was at the weigh-in and it was a raucus crowd. The crowd in march was there just for the spectacle of it all. This time they real fans have shown up. Tomorrow night should be fun.

coverage starts then, i would imagine the actual fight takes place later, tho i could be wrong. don't they usually calibrate everything to vegas/west coast 8-9 pm for big fights?

there is no justification for it, other then simple greed. And why the fight pisses me off so much. Billy Collins was the precedence for why never to again cheat and use bricks in the ring. Those guys got banned for life, and rightly so. Ruined his career and basically killed the guy.

And now Margarito is not only reinstated...but getting the fight of a lifetime? A chance to take down the man? total ********. Anyone else but him.

I said I wouldn't watch this fight. I said I wouldn't for sure pay for it, in principle. But the human side of me is starting to overwhelm the moral side and not sure how I can't. Mainly cuz I want to see pac smash him sooooo bad! But am going to be one sad, sad puppy if pac loses...
free in the UK, so will def watch and hope Pac batters him.

I think the PPV undercard doesnt start until 9 est. With 3 fights before the main event, it could be closer to midnight est before we see Pac-Margo.

Margarito said on 24/7 that he has that "mexican spirit, to die trying" please let that be true tonight

Some pics from the weigh-in last night, It was jam packed on the concourse of the stadium as they held it inside because of a stormfront that came through in the afternoon.
