The JuanMa/ Marquez fight kicked ass!

Too bad it was stopped, but the way the two were trading was brutal. Both fighters showed a lot of courage. I'm looking forward to Lopez vs. Gamboa, and imo Lopez will be a decent sized favorite.

On my drive to the gym this morning, I see a big bus with Pac all over it parked at the HS football stadium. Pull in to rail Pac doing his morning road work on the track. Pac going to win big

The fight this weekend is going to be goooood. I think Maragarito has a better chance of winning then all of the people I talk boxing to. He got himself into great shape and looks very determined. It's going to be an action-packed, intense fight!

Grapevine HS? He staying at the Gaylord again like he did in March?
Are you going to the fight? I just got my tix today and not bad seats for what I wanted to pay, sec 102. It's too bad the undercard took a hit with the Pavlik injury.

Anyone else think Maidana at +260 is crazy value? I think he brings way too much heat for Khan to be that much of a dog.

there is no justification for it, other then simple greed. And why the fight pisses me off so much. Billy Collins was the precedence for why never to again cheat and use bricks in the ring. Those guys got banned for life, and rightly so. Ruined his career and basically killed the guy.

And now Margarito is not only reinstated...but getting the fight of a lifetime? A chance to take down the man? total ********. Anyone else but him.

I said I wouldn't watch this fight. I said I wouldn't for sure pay for it, in principle. But the human side of me is starting to overwhelm the moral side and not sure how I can't. Mainly cuz I want to see pac smash him sooooo bad! But am going to be one sad, sad puppy if pac loses...
yeah, it is all on Arum not wanting to deal with anyone outside of Top Rank for a Pacquiao fight. 'Cheato is gonna have to open up and risk getting hit first to have any chance and Pac is gonna nail him. Antonio won't go into a shell like Clottey, too much pride , and that is why this fight is over within 5 rounds.

Rigondeaux is on the card, so I think the last 2 bouts could be really good. I'm really interested in how Rigo handles this step up (or is it Cordoba stepping up?).

So distasteful, it's like they're in grade school.

What sort of crowd is expected at the Pacman fight?

Gonna head to the pub and watch Haye/Harrison first, really hope Haye destroys him.

Edit - Is that heavyweight fight being shown in the States?

I think they both have been fighting at super bantem/junior feather for a while.
Good article on ESPN.com on Rigondeaux.

Arum and Jerry Jones are expecting 60,000 plus threatining the world record for an indoor fight set by Ali-Spinks in '78 at the Superdome.

This time Jerry is gonna have the real bleeders open (the ones that were curtained off last time). I had seats last time in the 200 section in the end zone but the atmosphere made up for it. Heck I saw three alchohol induced fights on the way out the door. Should be even crazier this time around.

I wasn't talking about weight, I was talking about a step up in opponent quality. Yes, that's a good article. I just started using Twitter and it's a great tool for getting boxing news. I caught that article in a Dan Raphael tweet!

Rigo winning and Pac ****ing up Margarito would make my night.

ok, now with the roach thing, if anyone ever was to die in the ring, might as well be this weekend

i don't think i'd enjoy watching someone get beat to death in a boxing ring.

preferably Pac batters him into retirement. (not death)

i know its not pc or normal to say you want someone to die outside of a hitler or mcveigh or dahmer, but margarito is a felon in my book and i could really give a **** if he becomes a vegetable

I hear you. I was just commenting on the fact that that is exactly how they want you to feel. These things are said for a reason, and that is to generate publicity and interest in the fight. $$$$

I have the Pac in 6 rounds or less for $50. I know almost nothing about boxing but my friend who seems to know a lot said that Margarito will punch it out with him but it should be a good fight and last at least 7 rounds. I snap called because it seemed incongruous that someone who wouldn't cover up and box super defensively could last that long. Do I have a good side or am I a fish in this bet?

You're going to lose that bet. Margarito is huge, one of the best chins in boxing, and has fought much bigger opponents than Pac before. Pac is going to be too small to knock him out.
