A few years from now, I wanna see a Lemieux-Alvarez showdown at middleweight, but that'll probably never happen. It'd be so sick though...easily my two favourite prospects right now, ainec.

But he has been very active, and stepping it up now. This showcased his excitement in the ring. But for now, he's def. in the league one of the best prospects on the planet.
Thanks, that was ****in amazing! His style is really fun to watch. Aggressive. I'm going to look for other clips. Gotta watch it again.

This month's going to be a good one for boxing. We just got a dog from the pound over the weekend. She's a survivor, 18 months, was owned by a homeless drug addict. I mention this because I've given up following all sports except boxing. Really, the only other sport was MMA. I find boxing kind of like poker to me, I don't really watch for recreation. I concentrate way too much, it's so draining at the end of the night.

I'll probably have to set aside some other things. Not really finding much time for poker either.

Glad to hear you got a recovery dog. Best way to go imo. Just to fill some space in until some of the big fights pop up, a recent vintage KO clip I just found. Some amazing old and historical names in it.

Both training camps are looking good, hard to decide who will win.

Margarito

Margaritos trainer

VS

Pac

Roach

^^ I like your style.

Geddy Lee. Saul Alvarez (El Canelo!) is my other top prospect as well. His style a lot like Lemieux's. Really good fundamentals, not a lot of flash but serious hurt ya power. His last fight with Carlos Baldomir was a good indication of just how hard he can hit. Baldomir (although getting long in the tooth) has one of the hardest chins out there and hasn't ever had happen, what the ginger mexican did to him.

Yeah, we've only had her for a few days. Lot's of work and adjustments, but well worth it! I'm also pretty high on Alvarez. I was shocked at what he did with Baldomir.

I don't know how close this really will be. IIRC, Margo was crap in his last fight. Another thing, was he his best against Clottey? No excuses for that fight? If so, then his chance of beating Pac are pretty damn slim IMO. I need to watch clips of that fight. If Clottey's speed was bothering, it will really suck to be in the ring with Pac. Cotto was tagging him like crazy in the first half of that fight. I actually wished that Cotto was fighting him instead. I really want to see Cotto beat him down. I hope that fight happens and that Cotto has enough to break Margo down.

I sense there may be a little acting on 24/7 in Pacs camp. I read the Iole column on yahoo about how Margo's restoring his name. I know Iole is a boxing/MMA writer so he may see it differently, but I will never see Margo in a good light ever again. I will only watch his fights hoping to see his opponent beat him down. I am pretty flexible about other things, but not this.

I have been wrong about fights in the past, but I don't think I'm wrong about this one. If Pac cruises through this one, I won't be surprised if he walks away. I believe the 24/7's are right about this, his hunger lies in politics now.

I wondered about this too. Freddie Roach said something about this being the worst training camp he's been involved in with Pacquiao. They seemed to be selling the impression that Manny has not been fully focused in this camp with too many distractions. I wonder if they aren't just trying to hype the ppv by making it look like a closer fight than many people think it will be.

imo, Margarito's only real defense - his hall of fame chin - was weakened by numerous batterings and pretty much destroyed for good by Mosley. He should be ready to go the way of Ricky Hatton against Pacquiao.

I can't blame him. There's no one left for him to fight.

Well, there's only one man, but he's doing his best to orchestrate a 34-year prison term to duck him again.

Seriously though, what does Pacquiao have left to prove? He's done it all.

how does Roach (anyone) justify giving Margarito a chance at Pac?

It isn't Roach, it is Bob Arum. he's the match maker. But still...

there is no justification for it, other then simple greed. And why the fight pisses me off so much. Billy Collins was the precedence for why never to again cheat and use bricks in the ring. Those guys got banned for life, and rightly so. Ruined his career and basically killed the guy.

And now Margarito is not only reinstated...but getting the fight of a lifetime? A chance to take down the man? total ********. Anyone else but him.

I said I wouldn't watch this fight. I said I wouldn't for sure pay for it, in principle. But the human side of me is starting to overwhelm the moral side and not sure how I can't. Mainly cuz I want to see pac smash him sooooo bad! But am going to be one sad, sad puppy if pac loses...

Please, Margarito just walks face first into punches. The guy doesn't even try to block. All Pac has to do is stick and move and clinch if Margarito gets close. It'll be just like Mosley/Margario when Mosley knocked him out. Only difference is that it will be a much shorter fight.

I'm surprised no ones mentioned lopez vs marquez/green vs johnson.

I've been excited about lopez marquez for a while. I'm guessing marquez wins and I think it will end by KO, either way. I'm rooting for Johnson, I've been a fan of his for years.

Yup, it's all about money. Margarito should be forced to find another line of work, but I anticipate a prolonged beatdown from Pac. I wished that they set up the pay so that Margarito got no more than 1MM. He acts like beating Pac would restore his name. He should be kissing Pacs feet for the opportunity. Also, did anyone else get annoyed with Brandon Rios' talking in 24 7? I think he's a punk.

As per Pac/Marg...the numbers speak for themselves. obv Pac is a huge favorite at this point, SuperUberBob. But there is an expression that carries weight imo....In this sport, the unexpected anything can happen. Even if rarely so.

It's just a lot of us aren't happy he has that chance.

Freaking awesome Lopez/Marquez fight! Absolute FOTY candidate if not for the shoulder injury and ending. And you can be sure that was no faking there...just not how Marquez rolls.

I went back and watched a couple of rounds just looking at Marquez' right. It didn't look like he was having any problems throwing rights and landing a few, although the left hook was by far his most effective punch. It certainly didn't look like he was fighting one handed and the commentators made no mention of anything looking amiss with his right during the fight.

I agree it's hard to imagine but then who would have ever thought Hands of Stone would have said "no mas" over a stomach ache.

IMO, Rafa isn't a quitter. Both brothers are warriors. Rafa's just a bit more fan friendly. Johnson's just a grinder. He was grinding Green down. I think he can do that to anyone else in the tourney. I wouldn't be surprised to see him win the thing.

Lopez/Marquez was a lot of fun while it lasted. I would love to see that again!
