Apparently there are plans about an Evander Holyfield - Brian Nielsen (danish pastry coming out of retirement) fight which if it materializes has to be a serious contender for worst match up ever made.

Last time I saw him, he was fighting Valuev who was an even bigger tomato can (figuratively and literally)...and he was the champion.

Heavyweight boxing is just so sad. Hell, I had to watch Samuel Peter get his ass handed to him by Wladimir Klitschko through the internet because it didn't air on TV in America. It was on during the afternoon in America because the fight took place in Germany.

Never been so choked up about a thread title change in my 2p2 SE life.

I don't even really care if I get to see PBF vs. Pac. It is a casual fans dream there is so many sick match ups out there that I want to see this year.

There's nothing better in sports than a big/exciting boxing matchup. It's a shame they can't happen more often.

JML vs Gamboa would be a sick fight, but probably won't happen until 2011.

Valero vs. Bradley is a possibility for June. Bradley's promoter said they are willing to fight Valero in Mexico and Arum expressed interest in the fight

Khan is fighting JMM, i believe. Maidana would have exposed his chin.

Bradley isn't ready for Pac yet imo.

Agree on Pavlik vs Williams/Martinez. Pavlik is fighting Martinez sometime in April, IIRC.

LOL yea but who is ready for Pac other than Mosley/PBF. Clottey has pretty much no way to victory other than PC. He will prob get a decision loss which no one has been able to do at 147, but he doesn't throw enough to knock out or dec Pac. I guess he has a small punchers chance, but would prob put the line at -600 to -700 for Pac. It sounds like Pac might not want to fight either Mosley/PBF according to Roach so he is going to either have to fight Bradley, or move up to 154 to fight Martinez, Foreman (LOL), Pavlik, Williams. I don't see Roach every letting Manny fight the latter two. So after he beats Clottey he is probably going to fight Bradley, or Foreman. Bradley IMO has a better chance to beat Pac than Clottey. Although he he is pillow fisted he has good defense, great handspeed, and throws a ton.

Why do you think Manny doesn't want to fight Mosley?

There is a high probability of that fight happening, even if Mosley loses to Mayweather, imo. First, Mosley won't demand blood tests. Second, Mosley has a good relationship with Bob Arum and Top Rank (he's fought Cotto and Margorito). Third, aside from Mayweather, there is no other welterweight that is worth fighting and I don't think Manny will go up to 154. Also, Mosley DESPERATELY wants to fight Pac. I'd be very surprised if Pac-Mosley doesn't happen.

I would guess 'unintentionally' headbutting manny and cutting him early is party of the clottey plan. At least, it should be. If Manny gets a bad cut early, it's a fight.

Mosley-Pacquiao will only happen after all possible Pac-PBF avenues have been exhausted. And by that time, it might not be as appealing of a matchup as it would be right now.

Roach has said we will never fight Shane Mosley "He is too good." Prob was a jab at PBF because he can't really believe that.

I really hope that Valero/Bradley fight talk is real, that would be a good one.

Khan's chin needs no more exposure, we know he's real chinny But yeah, I think Maidana takes that fight too. I also heard Khan's fighting JMM and I really hope JMM has enough in his tank to beat Khan. It will hurt to go against Roach's corner, but I'm rooting for JMM.

Hopkins/Jones is crap. Hopkins should retire if he doesn't fight Dawson. RJJ should just walk away.

LOL Haye vs Wlad would be a massacre. Haye should fight Adamek. I think that's like his only option right now if he wants a chance to win a fight, and hype himself more.

My dream matchup would also be Wlad vs Vitali. All those would be great too.

Haven't Wlad and Vitali agreed to never fight each other? Effectively, they have a monopoly on all of the belts.

Shame. That fight could very well resurrect the heavyweight division. Two brothers, both at the top of the division going at it for all of the belts.
