Yeah, an MMA undercard would suck. They need to add some quality boxing undercards, put some good Golden Boy and Top Rank fighters. Perhaps match up a warrior like Katsidis with Marquez.

Unfortunately, MMA and boxing fans don't mix well. Someone at work who's into MMA acted surprised when I said I watch boxing. He was like, "MMA has what boxing has, only better, and MMA has more." I didn't bother talking to the guy, no point. Different strokes for different folks. I imagine boxing fans can be the same way. Lot's of testosterone all around.

Overzealous MMA fanboys tilt the **** out of me. I'm subjected to the 19-25 MMA crowd at university that never followed or seemingly played a single sport until the advent of UFC and now they're the most hardcore of hardcore fans who trash boxing at every chance they get.

Some MMA fans are fans of all things combat sports. I like to watch boxing, K1 kickboxing, Muay Thai matches, Olympic Judo, Olympic/NCAA wrestling, BJJ tournaments, etc. I like them all. Just about the only combat sport I don't like watching is TKD, and I'm not even sure that can be called combat.

But that's not everybody's cup of tea. And MMA fans did start getting aggressive for a while the 'boxing is dead LOLZ' talk. Lots of MMA fans out there who just don't care for boxing at all.

minor derail, but i hadn't heard about that...

Why IS Raikkonen going to rally racing?

All or most of Mayweather's fights are on youtube, this channel:
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_lis...505AA9C45808BE

I'm watchin' em all. Have never seen either of them fight.

Good question. A lot of people are asking the same thing. Apparently he had always expressed a desire to move to WRC after his F1 career concluded...so if it was his plan to retire from F1 at age 30 all along, then I guess this makes sense...

Honestly, I don't know what else he could accomplish in F1 anyways. He's won a world title, he's made a ridiculous amount of money...I would assume F1 is probably much more stressful than WRC when you factor the increased likelihood of serious injury and the immense media attention, so maybe this is a better fit for Kimi at this stage in his life.

*EDIT: two other things to note...one is that obviously the Finns and Scandies in general absolutely love rally, it's in their blood...the second is that apparently Ferrari frowned upon Raikkonen's preferred off-season leisure activities of hockey, snowmobiling and snowboarding. Maybe he got tired of the Ferrari bs.

Most of the youtube comments are something about Pacman.

A few years back Mayweather was getting heavily criticized for his style of boxing, was so defensive and didnt want to stand toe-toe which is pretty understandable but you know how fans are.

After watching his dismantling of Hatton though ive become a fan.

I actually thought Castillo was more deserving of a win in that fight, but i saw that fight a while ago...and Mayweather won the rematch without a lot of controversy.

It was Mayweather early and Castillo late. I wasn't keeping score but two judges ruled it 115-111 for Mayweather and no way he won 4 more rounds. It'll be interesting to see the rematch, watched about 20 matches in a row time to sleep maybe I can finish the others tomorrow. It's interesting to see somebody rise from good amateur to champion in one night. Mayweather looked pretty damn good right away and very polished.

Hopefully there are plenty of Pacquiao I can watch too. Going to be hard to be more impressive than Mayweather unless Mayweather struggles more as he moves up... given that I know he's undefeated I doubt it lol.

Good fine Vixticator. I wasn't hugely aware of Mayweather until the Hatton fight so it'll be good to go back and watch all his earlier fights. It's pretty funny how well spoken and polite he is in his first post-fight interview compared to his OTT arrogance now.

Mayweather was born to box. It's in his blood. I can really appreciate his style of fighting, although it's not for everyone.

So does anybody think Pacquiao is using performance enhancing drugs?

I mean it wouldn't surprise me at this point if the Pope got caught using them......

lol....no.

There's a 0.0001% chance this fight doesn't happen, too much $$$$ to lose.

yes, but i hope nobody finds out as that'd ruin his mystique and this fight's epicness (unfairly imo)

this is about right, maybe a little too much - if i asked the 20 or so people I work with - I would guess 50% would recognize the name Mayweather and maybe 10% the other guy.

prolly none would have seen both of them fight.

This is just posturing by Mayweather. He wants to show everybody that he has the upper hand in negotiating and wants to bully Pacquiao. He didn't do this against Judah, Hatton or Baldomir. It isn't fair that a boxer is bullied because of the success he has had in the ring.

Whatever you use will show up after the fight. So, stick with the standard drug testing policy (tested after the fight).

My opinion is that Team Pacquiao should demand that Mayweather pay a large fine if Pac takes a pre-fight test and comes up clean. This is a real bull**** move by Mayweather's team.
