I saw a poll on the Pacquiao website and it was like 60/40 each way then 50/50 split and an interesting one was 45/45 with the other 10 going to the winner of the fight. Never going to happen but an interesting idea.

You really need to know?

Come back and tell me its not an ultimate event when the PPV numbers are announced.

I don't follow boxing, so I have no clue how good they are.

I figured to get the average fan psyched for a boxing event, they would need to be heavyweights to get the "greatest fighter in the world" claim going.

It's probably not fair to call it the fight of our lifetimes until after the fight but the potential is certainly there.

Should be a sick sick fight and I can't wait for it to happen.

How much do you figure it'll cost in the states on ppv?

Killer OP Geddy. I'm going to use this to get other friends who are not boxing fans interested in the fight. Well done.

Get a clue and read the opening post. You couldn't remotely consider me a boxing fan, but this fight will be my first ever PPV purchase. Also, to understand the Mayweather hate, understand that he's as big of a talent as he is an egomaniac. Then listen to this youtube to understand why he's even more pathetic for proclaiming himself the greatest of all time.

This fight will be huge simply because of the global attention it's going to get. Asia has been the burgeoning economy this last decade and now this economy that has money to spend on a "hometown" fighter, in his prime, that is an all time great contender, fighting another contender in his own prime. I mean, they're considering having this fight in a 100k seat football stadium. that's how big this is.

This is going to be soooooo epic def staying home and ordering it. As a casual boxing and MMA fan I would have to say I am way more excited about this fight then any MMA fight I can remember.

Is there any chance that this doesn't live up to potential if it happens?

I cannot see this being a one-sided fight in either direction. Looks like each round might be fought to the very end.

The biggest PPV event was a jr. middle weight fight. (Oscar dela hoya vs mayweather).

The skill level is much higher outside the heavyweight division. I still remember hearing comments from others watching the Pac vs Cotto fight with me. During the undercards they were complaining about the lack of punching power, etc. If many others feel the same way, no wonder MMA is getting so popular, you get many "highlight reel" KOs, but I'll take boxing over it any day. I'm one of those hardcore boxing fans, so many won't even care about what I say.

OT: For the casual fans that have read this far, look up Jose Luis Castillo vs Diego Corrales 1. It's best fight this decade so far, if you don't find that fight exciting, nothing in boxing will interest you.

Very much this.

Honestly, the more I think about it, the less confident I feel about picking a winner. This fight, on paper, is so even, it's scary.

It's possible that this fight won't live up to the hype, but I think it's highly unlikely. I see it possibly being as exciting as the Pacquiao vs JMM fights, but Pac has evolved into a more complete fighter. He's cutting off the ring better and his footwork has improved a lot. He's got controlled aggression. I think he'll make Mayweather fight. Mayweather's got the tools to win too. Although others may disagree with me, I like his style, pure boxer. My heart's with MP though.

Damn, I can't wait for March. No injuries please...

Shhhhhhhh, lol

This won't be a brawl. Not even a calculated brawl. But that certainly doesn't mean it can't be electrifying. I'll be perfectly content with a technical masterpiece from both fighters.

LOL, I meant no injuries during training camp. I really think that this may become a technical fight too like the JMM fights (with either fighter). Casual fans looking for an early KO are going to be extremely disappointed.

BTW: X-mas may be coming early for me. It's almost official here. It will get done...

Manny cause Floyd's money will just go toward paying his back taxes while Pacman actually keeps his.

Mayweather goes on wrestlemania and gambles a ton when not training, manny does (I have no idea). Hard to top pbf's lifestyle.
