What do you think of this Whyte/Ellis Rangers carry on? You'se think it'll happen?

On Superscoreboard today one of the guys thought that it might eventually fall through as to parphrase "Whyte is a businessman and how the **** is buying the shambles that is Rangers going to make him money". Fair point I thought. Even a pal whose a Rangers fan thinks that Whyte might be bad news for them.

Also i'm not surprised at the lack of Rangers fans here. Celtic are a global team supported by folk all over the world with a reputation for playing fine football. Rangers on the other hand are known for causing rampage in city centres, bigoted singing and painful eyegouging tactics (what are their recent Champions League stats again lol)

you realise Celtic need a strong Rangers for themselves to progress.

a poor Rangers just gives the Celtic board a chance to revert to the norm wrt recruting players of very average calibre. (something that would come to them very naturally imo)

Rangers not investing in players will soon rub off on Celtic. (as if Celtic board/owners need reasons not to spend their money)

in short Celtic need a competitive Rangers.

otoh if it was Celtic in this position i'd expect Rangers to pull out all the stops to try and move lightyears ahead of Celtic: see their 9 in a row years. (won't happen in Celtic's case imo - after Seville we had the chance to leave them for dead but didn't spend a penny to improve)

what i would like for maximum lol's is for Mr Whyte to be a level, with him revealing he doesn't have the money to buy Rangers and he is really a Celtic fan.

The Sunday Mail (which is the sunday version of The Daily Record) had a tiny column maybe 1/5th of a page lengthwise. Hardly surprising tbh, Newspaper's whole sports readership up here will be Old Firm fans, nobody cares too much what's happening with the wee teams.

St Johnstone hope to have defender Steven Anderson back in their squad for the league visit of Rangers following a minor knee injury.

Collin Samuel hopes to brush off a hip knock but Jamie Adams, Graham Gartland, Jody Morris and Sam Parkin remain out.

Rangers will welcome back Kyle Lafferty and Darren Cole back to their squad.
