there are few things better in life than seeing the English being crushed in a tournament deciding match.

but one of those things is getting to berate your English friends during the match

Reporter: How do you go from 6 nations favourites to battling to avoid the wooden spoon

French Coach: Well..It's very French..

Only in Ireland would a coach get away with this Six Nations performance. The team is going nowhere under his leadership. Change needs to be made now in order for the new guy to stamp his authority on this team and build for the World Cup.

Here we go Scotland. Need a big game here.

France need to win by 16 or 17 to not get the wooden spoon.

Scotland need to lose by 30+ to not finish 3rd.

Despite the measly try count, it's been a good 6 nations. Last two years have shown that Wales and England have young teams (in the real sense of the word "team") with tons of potential. Italy have been great to watch and were the 3rd best team overall (but the table never lies and they deserve 4th at the end of the day). Wales-England today was a cracker. 1st half there was nothing in but kickable goals, 2nd half the English showed some character in defence but were lousy in many ways but the Welsh were immense and it would be a great night to be Welsh.

Roll on the Rugby League World Cup for some tries.

Yep league scrums are a joke but they do serve a purpose (although not the original intended purpose). Enforcing the put in would make a huge difference and we'd see more than 0.0000001% of them being contested.

From a neutral perspective has rugby in Europe ever been healthier in a competitive sense? The difference between top and bottom in 6 nations has never been closer. France and Ireland battling for wooden spoon, England and Wales battling for 6 nations but in a parallel universe somewhere it's the other way around.

Kidney has to go. Ireland need to bring through a solid young team and they need to do it now before its too late. Kidney doesn't have what it takes. Look at what England and Wales are doing.

Pretty healthy 6 nations. Ref was poor today. England were poor too. Wales were Wales and took the thing home. France are France and there's little point in reading anything into their performance - a 2nd rate France XIII could take out a world beating NZ team on the day. Ireland have been there or there abouts for the last 12 years or so but that's it really. Italy are getting better and gravitating towards a world cup quarter final spot with a good wind behind them. I won't mention.....

At the end of the day it's about a big night in Cardiff. The majority of the Welsh and English fans will neck as many beers as they can and then a few more and will wake up to bacon.

When will Sam Tomkins make the jump from League to Union? Im sure they'll be pushing hard over the next few years.

If he doesn't jump before 2014 six nations then he's headed for the NRL. I'd bet on union though.

Nice to see it's only taken four months to show what everybody with even a small amount of common sense knows: alloting teams to pools for the 2015 RWC has been done 'a little' too early;

3 of the currently ranked top 5 in the same pool and 3 of the others all ranked below those 3 in another pool (France, Ireland, Italy);

1 NEW ZEALAND 90.08
2 SOUTH AFRICA 86.94
3 AUSTRALIA 86.87
4 ENGLAND 83.72
5 WALES 83.36

6 FRANCE 81.59
7 SAMOA 78.71
8 ARGENTINA 78.71
9 IRELAND 78.05
10 SCOTLAND 76.86
11 TONGA 76.10
12 ITALY 76.06

I don't understand how major football tournaments can do the draw so much closer while the IRB thinks they need two years to sort out scheduling.

Salford's new owner apparently offered him a lot of cash to move which he turned down, doubt they even make that approach if he's going to union any time soon

Ewen McKenzie is the early favourite to replace him. I'd be happy with that, he could be pretty good.

Whoever takes over needs to make some obvious changes. More of Marshall, Madigan and Jackson. No more O'Gara or D'Arcy ever again.
