......Peyton/Brady are on a different level because they are 33/32 so a lot of Cutler's value come from being 7/6 years younger than them.
Given how long QBs can play, Peyton/Brady/Brees' ages do not disqualify them from being better players to start a new franchise with, especially given how spectacular they are.
Building a franchise today:
Peyton/Brady/Brees/Ben/Rivers/Rothlisberger/Ryan/Rodgers/Flacco/Schaub
I think Cutler, Eli, Romo are all close, then I guess Palmer. Even debating some of the guys like Flacco, he's somewhere in the 9-13 range in terms of "QB's I'd draft today to start my franchise with". Considering how many old vets are out there that are totally disqualified from this (Favre, Warner, Hasselbeck etc) that's really nothing to write home about.

C'mon, I know there's variance in sports, but "the O-line was on an insane heater last year" is just silly. Hey, it's all random so I don't ever have to question my own beliefs amirite? And It's not like last year was Orton's only year of avoiding mistakes and doing ok with limited talent. He has been amazingly consistent as a starter from the year the Bears went to the Super Bowl all the way through this year. Orton's no world beater, and I'm not saying he's better than Cutler, but this is an over-the-top excuse for Jay.

LOL at Cutler being good enough to have haters.
He's nice. He's a primadonna headcase frontrunner who really does well when things are going well and implodes spectacularly when things aren't. He's got talent, that's for sure. He wouldn't be the first QB with talent to underachieve.
