How's that? Fumbles can be recovered after a whistle, and a dropped lateral is the same as a fumble.

nope... there's an issue with people scared to be men

it's the officials that won't allow for the right outcome when they know it's right

it's the audience and fans that shout down those that point out injustice because they support a team that traditionally gets a large share of the breaks

But what is the rule? The announcers didn't know. Mike Pereira (former head of officials) knew the correct (per the rule book) call as soon as he saw it, but he didn't not explain the reasoning for the rule. http://twitter.com/MikePereira

As near as I can make out, because the refs blew the whistle, it was dead as soon as it hit the ground at the spot of the drop. But I can't find that rule in the rulebook. http://www.nfl.com/rulebook

I don't think they've been that bad in this Saints/49ers game?

They're standing like 8 feet away and everything's happening incredibly fast. I mean, we can all scream incompetence after our 8 slow motion replays on our HD tv, but standing on the field I see no reason to think NFL refs are anything other than excellent.
