Managed to get Searle for +230 when the book opened lines for this event. Already down to +145. Also got Ian +200, Mensur +125, and Luke -115. My futures bets are on Searle 80/1, Wade 28/1, Cullen 35/1, and Dolan 50/1. Will almost certainly go chalk and have Price or MVG win it, but **** it, worth a shot.
Yeah, Searle is underrated. It's hard to call this one as the double start throws my system off and the first round is such a crapshoot. Searle certainly doesn't have a bad section of the draw and if Smith can turn over Price in round one then what the hell

he's simply never gotten over whatever he had straight after winning it, it's a real shame

Adam Smith is so bad in the booth. Completely botched the ridiculous Clayton bust on 134.

good games so far today.

european championship starts tomorrow. running off of an order of merit based on two events, so we have lol spots like adam smith-neale playing, no jonny clayton, and if any of the domestic qualifiers for gibraltar had fluked a win (or, for that matter, drawn each other), they'd have made it. despite the dumpster fire selection i can only see two bets. mervyn king is still good everyone

also with the players championship series done we're pretty close to knowing the field for the worlds from the pdc - notable players currently out are de zwaan, west, hopp, hendo, brown, klaasen, webster, waites, they'll need to bink the pdpa qualifier, or perhaps a relevant regional qualifier

wow, 16 year old german kid who wasn't old enough to play in the first weekend of the development tour in august has gone final - ran into former tour card holder averaging 106 first round - semi final - win - win - currently in qf of last event, and will make worlds debut as second youngest player ever

Is Cross big time back or was his last tournament win a giant upswing ?

Yeah, there's really no excuse for it not to be best of 11, but I guess they're running a lot more interviews/montages than ITV would do when they're doing eight games in a session. It doesn't actually make that much difference though, looking at the second game on today (Mervyn/Rusty), Mervyn's 61% by my stats in best of 9, but make it best of 19 and he's only 65%

Definitely trending back upwards. Not top ten level by any stretch (to me per the numbers that's MvG, Price, Wright, de Sousa, Clayton, Ratajski, Dobey, Dimitri, Noppert, Smith) but he's not far off.

Some 14 year old kid's won a big open in Ireland and qualified for Lakeside, Paul Lim will hopefully be back at Ally Pally in half an hour or so

Go Sherrock

This is fun. Everybody rooting for her.

she played well but obviously it helped that suljovic played his worst game in six months

Kind of surprised that Clayton is the small favourite tonight. Didn't think I'd be able to get evens on Price against anyone that isn't MvG any time soon, but these are strange times

players championship finals from friday-sunday. world youth finals takes place on the sunday as well. there are no too many worlds in/out implications on the line here, there's some marginal tour card save/lose spots which might swing one way or another but those are hugely influenced by the worlds and there's still the pdpa qualifier to come. dependent on who wins the world youth, that may bump down another worlds qualifying spot to kevin doets (who is himself in the world youth)

sherrock's an interesting one there. if she wins her first two games at the worlds, she will move up to 45k on the order of merit, and 64th (which would grant an auto card) is currently on just under 43k. but we'd need to wait for the draw for that one

Wait, Sherrock doesn't have a tour card ?

Winning one match in four days at the final stage of q-school will result in that, yes. Biggest disparity between stage and floor games I've ever seen. She even lost money on the Challenge Tour

considering she's averaging something like 95 on stage now it must be a matter of time before she is doing better on the floor too

Barely averaging 85 on the Challenge Tour, which took place August/September, so not exactly ancient history. I know averages are pulled down by playing against worse players but that's not exactly good

Real good game between Dirk van Duijvenbode and Ryan Meikle on the second board yesterday, would recomend a rewatch. Both players averaging 105+, multiple big checkouts, it's on Youtube somewhere (hopefully someone's uploaded a better version than what I've seen already, ideally the PDC themselves)

Spoiler:
That I bet on the winner has nothing to do with this recommendation
