What's up with Wade these days hows he 20/1 to win with the field left?

He's simply not good, he doesn't kill legs off anywhere near quickly enough to compete with the elite, mainly because he doesn't score heavily enough. He's also in by far the hardest quarter left with Wright and Suljovic in there

He was never that high a scorer but still capable of high 90's combined with some of the highest doubling. His form fallen off massively or is everyone better now?

I've got 42 players in my database who've won 50 legs on stage in 2017. In terms of the percentage of those legs that were won in fifteen darts or less, Wade ranks 39th at under 50%. This database includes BDO players.

edit - in terms of the doubling, someone ran the stats of the Grand Prix field in terms of checkout percentage and Wade was right in the middle

Back when he was regularly winning TV majors I assume his numbers were higher then he must have fallen off massively.

Probably a bit of both, the whole field has got better and he can't get away with hanging around and nicking legs in six visits any more, opponents are good enough to clean up those chances much more often. He hasn't won a ranking major in six years fwiw, although I find it surprising only eight players have won one since then

Cross, van den Bergh, Dobey, Pipe, Clayton, Dekker, Mark Webster and Stevenson qualify for the World Series finals

Huge couple of days incoming as it's the last couple of floor events of the season with just the Euro Tour at the weekend before everything is done before the worlds field is decided, the big one is Jenkins entering having left it way too late and realistically needing to final or bink to qualify, an in depth bunch of permutations is on my site

See profile

Jenkins has potentially dangerous kid Ryan Meikle, then Kellett if he wins that, Dobey out first round

Last Players Championship in the books. The semi finalists were, naturally, Jonny Clayton, James Wilson, Jeffrey de Zwaan and Jamie Caven. Have written up a bunch of the permutations for the worlds on the site (no Jenkins, no Dolan), the Players Championship finals will look like this barring any weird withdrawals:

Cross/Owen
VVDV/Lennon
North/Hudson
A Lewis/de Decker
Cullen/Caven
Wade/Painter
White/van Barneveld
Henderson/Johnson

Anderson/Mansell
Bunting/K Brown
Norris/Klaasen
Beaton/R Huybrechts
Suljovic/Boulton
Lerchbacher/van de Pas
Clayton/de Graaf
Price/Jimmy Hendriks

Gurney/de Zwaan
Jacques/Green
K Huybrechts/Dobey
Thornton/Richardson
Chisnall/Murnan
Wilson/O'Connor
K Anderson/Meulenkamp
Pipe/M Webster

Wright/Hine
Wattimena/Reyes
M Smith/Dekker
Whitlock/Kist
van Gerwen/Nicholson (LOL)
West/Searle
D Webster/Alcinas
King/Dolan

Mostly losing 6-1 to Nathan Aspinall and not making the Euros

In an interesting call, Ratajski has surrendered his spot in the BDO worlds, presumably to play the Euros, if he beats Whitlock tomorrow he could make the PDC worlds

No wait, he's back in as the PDC have given random invites based on arbitrary ranking systems to get Ratajski, Devon Petersen and Jeff Smith into the field. No problems with any of these getting in but they never, ever allocate an extra spot to Eastern Europe and Africa if the first two qualified by right, or one to Canada if Smith made Lakeside

Kyle Anderson hit a nine earlier against MvG, probably would have traded it in for a twelve and hitting either of the match darts he missed. Gurney against Cross shortly, win for Cross puts him in the Grand Slam, else Gurney has a shot at a second major

Just caught the Anderson 9. That should get more credit than a regular 9 - every dart was in the centre of the centre of the bed. Very nice.
