Hoping Razma can get in (watched about 7 legs of his in the BDO about 3 years ago and he looked competent)

You would assume that at least one or two would make it for sure.

Alcinas and Schindler in the last eight as well now. Neither of them will face each other or Nicholson in the last eight, if I'm reading the website correctly. Shepherd still playing his last 16 match, as is Derbyshire. I think Shepherd would play Ronnie Baxter if he won through and Derbyshire would face Alcinas.

ETA: Shepherd now through to the last eight too

Nicholson twitter logo is a Steelers one, just in case you needed more reason to hate him sixfour

Schindler wins as well.

Shepherd and Nicholson binked to win cards. It looks like Razma is going to scrape in to the last or second-to-last OoM spot, thanks to said binks. Other quarters are Schindler v Paul Rowley, whoever that is, and Jimmy Hendriks v Alcinas. All four of those guys will cards via OoM at the least.

Alcinas gets the last card

And day four is in the books. Your winners:

Martin Schindler
Kirk Shepherd
Antonio Alcinas
Paul Nicholson

All these guys except Schindler have obviously been around the block, with Shepherd getting a card for the first time since 2014. Alcinas back for the first time since 2014 too, though he's been a fixture at the World Cup and taken fill-in spots on the Pro Tour since then. Nicholson is Nicholson; he was starting to look a little less LOL towards the end of 2016, so fair play to him. Schindler got into four Euro tour events this year and got two wins, which look to be his biggest ever scores so far.

The OoM qualifiers:

Jaime Bain
Jimmy Hendriks
Ronnie Baxter
Steve Hine
Sven Groen
Paul Rowley
Scott Derbyshire
Mickey Mansell
Chris Quantock
John Norman Jr.
Darren Johnson
Madars Razma

Notables that did not make it: Stuart Kellett, Nathan Aspinall, Jason Wilson, Alan Tabern, both of the other R.J. Rodriguezes, Barry Lynn, and McDine.

No mention of the masters in here? Sixfour where are you?

Impressed with Barny's first round performance. Rest of the night should be pretty routine wins for Taylor, Anderson and White.

Also Taylor announced that World Championship next year will be the last tournament of his career.

Drinking and disregarding glorified exhibitions. This really is the most pointless event, we'll see 10/16 of these every week for the next few months, do we really need an unranked weekend event in Milton Keynes?

Well I'll only really see the ones on ITV4, so I appreciate it.

heh

I don't see why they don't scrap this and only name eight for the premier league, then use this time for an eight man play in event for the last two spots

Presumably money

Pretty much

Not as many would watch it if Taylor, Anderson, MvG et all were not involved

You're both absolutely right, although I do grow tired of seeing the same players week in week out - it's like in last year's UK Open where they don't show Wade/Suljovic and show MvG and Taylor against jobbers

Ah, the PDC's now restored the live data from the worlds, and checking back it goes at least as far as the Players Championship Finals, so I'll add those to my database this weekend

Taylor/Jenkins not playing any of the first weekend of UK Open qualifiers. Odd that Jenkins says he only wants to play TV majors and then isn't playing the tournaments that will get him into TV majors. He's going to have to play some floor events to get enough to make the Matchplay (currently 5/16 on Pro Tour ranking for that, but will easily be surpassed by 12 others by the start of July) so why not get something in the bag and kill two birds with one stone?

Related to the money thing is that Sky don't want to really show as much darts as they are already doing so it becomes a really hard sell to try and make them show more

Do they do quarters semis and finals all today? Seems like a big day if so, weird to finish on a Monday if not.

Yeah. It's no different to the UK Open in that respect. It's only first to 10/11 so not that huge an ask

lol at Mensur throwing at like twice the speed of normal, and apparently claiming to everyone that he always throws this fast.

I don't like the guy and I don't care about the tournament but Phil beating out Anderson for a GOAT off in the final might make me watch it

Repeat of World final with Anderson in Godmode would be more appealing to me.

Why am I still amazed at these kinds of performances? This is pretty routine now. Yawn.
