Jeez I hope he makes it into Premier League Darts this year. He shows great sportsmanship, always seems to be smiling and having a laugh, and has a great throw...

I dont think VDV gets in unless he beats Whitlock tonight which I dont think is happening.

Just looked at the page for the Premier League this year. Apperently there are 4 wildcards this year and 4 automatica selections this year...

Thats great, because Jenkins would need a big win to get into the top 4 above Whitlock, Wade, Taylor and Barney.

I think the new idea is great to get players in on good form compared to the dross served up by Baxter and Jenkins last year, and I guess Barney as well...

yeah, jenkins is about 34k behind whitlock. if he made the semi and whitlock lost tonight, that'd do. if whitlock beats VDV jenkins needs the final

When they were talking about the PL earlier in the tournament, Bristow was hinting at someone from the BDO coming over but not sure if he was serious or not. Dont really think anyone over there is capable of competing with these guys.

In my opinion, all BDO means to me is Big Day Out, a concert of here is Australia :P

personally i'd just have the six brickie says plus webster, plus a weekly wildcard, just chuck in someone local who'll pull the crowds in. whoever the eighth man is doing it regular won't make the playoffs anyway so roll with whatever imo

Yeah I'd like to see Webster as one of those two - he's shown enough form since coming over to justify it. The sponsors could throw a curveball and go for someone like Suljovic to broaden their audience and tbh I'd have no problem with that.

1 Aussie
1 Scot
1 Netherlands
1 Welsh

What other target markets do they really want to hit. One of the Spanish guys would have been cool, but thats unlikely. Stompe if they need more Dutch, but Barney is probably enough.

I think they would probably go Jenkins, but I dont like it...

I remember watching the BDO about ten years ago and I think it was Hankey averaged 99 in a best of 5 sets match - I think it was some sort of record at that time - and the BBC team were creaming themselves. 99 average in this championship, now, isn't going to get you very far.
