Or, from next year, any darts, as BT Sport bought Lakeside IIRC

edit - misread the article, they're sharing it from this year. Still...

Yeah well BT blew all their money on the Champions League rights.

looking at some of them, i don't think they're actually bounceouts - nicholson looks like he's using an extremely thick flight setup, and benito's angle of attack also allows for a ton of opportunities to kill all the pace of an incoming dart. they're more dropouts, whereby a deflection slows the dart enough that it doesn't stay in. there was one i think, when benito went for cover on 19's, but it's really hard to get a true bounceout on modern boards with no staples and ultra-thin wiring systems

Haven't watched every match or been keeping track but it seems to me that a lot more darts are jumping out of the board in this tournament than is usual.

Why the feck are BT Sports punting money into the BDO?

Doesn't make any sense... they realise that the PDC is where it's at... and they'd actually get people watching it if it was the PDC.

Adams is an idiot. The sooner Hern buys the BDO and unifies it into one, the better.

The rights to the BDO are probably free, but lighting/cameramen etc cost money.

checks score

sees they both need double 1

good one to miss i think but would have liked to have least seen some of deano's game before going out for plop/arse

ha true

The winner of the BDO gets £100k, the sponsorship and extra money from PDC events must be worth a decent bit more though.

Because sports content is really hard to find, and at times anything will do, particularly in the UK and Australia where you can't rely on sportscenter type programs covering the 15 baseball games of the day, the eight basketball games, the six hockey games, and all the previews of the upcoming week of NFL.

The value of free BDO content is a heap better then how much it would cost to pry the rights from Sky. Maybe it will not rate fantastically, but its probably better than just repeats of old news.

I agree with unifying the top league, but I am curious as to how the money distributions will change once the PDC is the only top flight.

I feel a little uncomfortable when they discuss players' financial situation, and whether they might have to pack the game in. :s

Jones was moaning about that when he was still in the top 16
The Random Darts Discussion Thread Quote

He only made £19k in prize money in the last year tho.

Great .. this reminds me of the last time i backed Winstanley to beat Jones ... Jones put in a great performance and hardly missed a double.

I was hoping Jones had since regressed to a complete nothing by now.

Does anyone win easy with this betting lark ?
